Chapter Five.

LATER ON THAT day, Missy and Romeo do warm-ups first, stretching and doing a light jog around the field they were using. "So... what's your deal? You completely ignored Spider today. I thought you'd be the one telling him off, not me." She said as the two of them were jogging and Romeo just scoffed.

"What?" He says, a bit baffled by her words and she just rolls her eyes. "You know what I mean. You always tell him off, you always let him know you won't take any of his shit, but today, after he said that crap to Sash, you didn't say anything. Like at all. It's not like you." She said and he just shrugs. "I'm just done putting my energy there, you know? What's done is done, I'm not going down that road again." He says and she just hums quietly.

"Uh-huh."

After one game of one-on-one, the two now sit side by side on the field, drinking their water and sitting in silence. "Okay, fine, yeah, maybe he's still all I think about and I haven't gotten over him. But I'm seriously done with that crap and I just won't bother interacting with him anymore." He explains suddenly and she just squints her eyes at the Castillo.

"You just want a reaction out of him." How was it that Missy was able to read that about him? He just huffs, "no," he denied and she slowly nods, looking away. "Sure." She says quietly and he sighs. "I mean, yeah, my mom might have mentioned that I shouldn't show him it doesn't bother me or whatever, and I thought that maybe--" "yeah. You just wanna see what he does. Because all this time, you've always had something to argue back with. He'll definitely be confused." She nods softly.

"I don't want to see what he does. I just... don't want him to think he has any power over me like that anymore." He says right away, defending himself and Missy snorts. "I'm serious, Missy. I'm not doing this to have another... whatever that was we had going on." He sighed, shaking his head as he now stood up. "I gotta head home now. But I'll see you tomorrow." He says and she nodded, also getting up from the ground.

"See you on the field, Romeo."

The next day at the game, the two teams all prepare, getting into the jerseys and all getting ready. "Are we gonna let these knuckleheads rob us of our basic school rights?" Amerie now asked the girls, Malakai and Romeo. "No!" The girls say in sync, even Romeo. "We have just as much of a right to sports facilities as those dickheads. This bullshit idea that men get first dibs on sports grounds just because they got dicks." She says. "Transphobic, but..." Sasha says, looking around at the other girls.

"Are we gonna stand for that?"

"No." The girls say. "I said, are we going to stand for that?" Amerie repeated her question. "No!" The girls all answer. "Okay. So get out there and give 'em hell." The Wadia now steps down before going over to Malakai. The girls all pair up and do warm ups, as Amerie and Malakai spoke. Romeo looks over just as Malakai took off his jersey and walked over to the CUMLORDs, picking up a jersey.

Amerie walks over to them, tossing Malakai's jersey into the bucket. "He can't do that." Sasha exclaims now, pointing at the boy mow wearing the CUMLORDs jersey and highfiving Voss. "That can't be allowed." Romeo says, looking around at the team of girls.

The game begins, the crowd cheering them off aa the boys were mostly the ones getting scores, making them really cocky. "Harper! Don't touch her. She'll put you in jail." Spider shouted and all the boys laugh. Romeo glances over at the blonde girl ignoring them all. The girls finally score a goal, making Darren and Quinni cheer them on from the bleachers.

With the score being at 22-20, the two teams face off again, and while running with the ball, Sasha was shoved down to the ground by Spider. "Sash, you okay?" Romeo calls out to the girl who Spencer was now offering a hand to, but when she took it, he pushed her down. "What the fuck?" Sasha exclaimed as Romeo now rushed over to the So.
