THE NEXT DAY, everyone was excited to hear that SLT class was cancelled. Until there was an announcement over the school intercom saying it wasn't, and that Miss Obah has moved the time to after school. Now the students all stand together in the classroom. "I'm so glad I don't have a shift tonight." Stevie sighs as she stood with Enya and Romeo.
Jojo tells them, "so, last session, we covered the social consequences of sexting. Today's exercise will demonstrate just how quickly your images can spread to places you really don't want them to." She explained as Amerie and Malakai now walked around the class, handing every student a piece of the string.
"Okay, so today's exercise is called the blue string game. Would you like to walk us through it, Miss Woods?" Miss Obah now asked the woman. "Okay, so the toilet roll is a sext and the blue string is the world wide web. This is about the dangers of sexting and how quickly information can be spread. So I want you to move those toilet rolls around the string and Malakai and Amerie to try and get them." Woods explained the game.
Once the toilet roll was on the string, and the ends were tied together, forming a whole loop around everyone in the room, the game begun, with everyone pushing the roll. "That's it. Get it. That's it. Get that sext flying along the string. Come on. Here we go. That's it." Principal Woods as everyone pushed the toilet paper roll along and the two other students try to get it, just to be caught up in the string.
After the lesson was over and everyone was leaving, Stevie glanced behind her to see the two Castillo siblings following shortly behind. "We pregame at yours or mine?" She asked, adjusting her backpack as the three of them now walk together in a line. "You two are seriously going to that stupid gig? They're called Chronic Fatigue." Enya says before Romeo can even answer his best friend.
"Well, yeah... they're raising money for the Global Women's Project." Romeo says and Stevie rolls her eyes, snorting. "More like you wanna get with Missy so bad." She says quietly and he elbows her side. "Shut up, Stevie." He says in a hushed tone and Enya just glanced between the two. "Why do you care anyway? Don't you have plans with Jack tonight?" Romeo says in an annoyed tone, and just like that, Stevie's wide grin faded away and she glanced away to the other way.
"Shut up, Ro." Enya says, glancing at Stevie before looking straight ahead. "I'm just surprised you would wanna go because of Spencer White." She says his name in a certain tone that makes Romeo just sigh. "Mind your business already." He remarks before turning to look at Stevie. "Please don't bring Fireball this time." He says right away to the girl.
The Miller glanced up, squinting her eyes at him, "can you, like, not hold that against me?" She asked and he just swings an arm around the girl's shoulders. "Well, considering the fact that I was having the worst hangover ever, I'm gonna hold it over you forever." He says as the two of them now walk ahead of Enya who just watched the two with a solemn look.
When Stevie arrived later like an hour and a half before the party, she smiled widely at Ms. Castillo who had just squinted her eyes at the girl. "I'm here to hang with Romeo." She said, now grinning widely at the woman who just smiled now. "Of course, come on in. You're always welcome here, Stevie."
In the boy's bedroom, they take shots of thankfully vodka as Romeo looked through his clothes. "Why do you care what you're gonna be wearing? Is it because of Spencer?" Stevie now asks, voice full of annoyance when she asked, downing the shot in the tiny cup. "No." Romeo denied rather immediately.
Something deep down was telling him to however, to dress and catch the blond's attention. But he would never admit that, to himself or anyone. "Good, because you know who you should dress for? Missy. She's hot." She grins widely now and Romeo just rolls his eyes at his best friend.
"I--I'm dressing for me." He instantly tells her, skimming through all of his shirts that are hung up in his closet. "Why do I never have anything cute to wear?" He mutters quietly underneath his breath. "Oh! Perfect outfit. The shirt with the cut off sleeves, and the ripped jeans I got you for your birthday." Stevie says, grinning widely and he just looks over, making a face. "That's, like, way out of my style." He quips.
"Which is perfect, for a party, of a stupid band. Because you know... Missy will like it." She insisted and Romeo just stares at the t-shirt hanging on the hanger. Yeah. Maybe Missy will like it. Another voice at the back of his head says, yeah, maybe Spider too. Maybe he'll just rip it off of you once he sees you. He shakes his head. "I don't know. I'm gonna have to see what I look like in it first." He tells her.
"Okay? Then go get dressed. Dummy."
When he returns to his room, in the Metallica t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, the black jeans with the rips at the knees, Stevie excitedly claps, smiling widely at him. "You look great! You should definitely go in this outfit." She tells him and he awkwardly rubs his upper arm. "I feel a bit exposed." He tells her and she shrugs. "Yeah, but whatever? You have a nice body. Look at your biceps. Like, how do you have arms like that when you don't work out?" She asked and he smirks, flexing his arms.
"I'm literally the man of the house."
"You say that like as if Aunt Vi doesn't carry all the weight in this family." She tsk'ed, shaking her head as she pours up a shot. "Come on. Do one more shot and we head out." She says, grinning as he walks over to her, rolling his eyes. He wasn't wrong though, he does a lot of heavy lifting around the house, whenever his mom randomly decides to clean up the entire house top to bottom, he's the one that moves the appliances, like the oven and fridge. Especially the dining room table, and chairs. Not to mention, the couch, and the tv stand and everything else in the house.
The two finish up pregaming rather early on, heading over to Dusty's place about twenty minutes after the party began, everyone just partying together when they arrived. From where he stood in the kitchen, talking with Missy, he could see Spider and Ant doing tequila shots, Ant licking salt off his hand as Spider took a shot from the liquor bottle which he then hands over to his best friend who now squeezed a lime into his mouth.
That was so gay.
And Romeo kind of wishes he was Ant. "So... is tonight the night then, Romeo?" Missy asked, pouring drinks for the two of them. "Uh, if you're up for it." He awkwardly laughs and the Beckett girl just made a weird face at him. "You're honestly kind of a dork, and weird, but it's fine, I'm kinda into it." She says, now raising the other red solo cup for him, smirking.
"Good." Romeo grins at her, then he finds his gaze wandering back over to the duo standing in the hallway, just to find that Ant was the only one doing shots now and Spider was looking their way. He quickly looked back at Missy, smiling faintly at her as she was sipping her drink, just staring up at him. "I don't know. I think I like that you wanna take it slow. It kind of builds up to it." She says, now smiling widely.
"Yeah? Then how about another night?" He asked and she just laughs, rolling her eyes as she playfully hits his arm. "I'm gonna go look for Sasha, but I'll see you after the set, okay?" She says and he quickly nods, now watching as she walked away. His phone buzzed in his pocket just then, so he digs it out from his jeans to see an unexpected message.
Well... not really unexpected.
