𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐬

Chapter Twenty-One.

      

     A WHOLE WEEK has passed since inauguration, a whole week since Romeo has decided he'll wait for Spider to come and apologize, to make things right, a whole week of him just staring at the photo of him and Spider that was still in his recently deleted. He probably looks at the stupid photo at least three or four times a day. It's so pathetic.

It was definitely his fault. For Spider's outburst at the school captain debate. He shouldn't have called it quits with him. But Stevie's words got to him. She was right. People wouldn't get it. They would actually judge him for it, especially when he was the one who argued with Spider the most and competed with him all the time. Everyone would be confused by it.

In the afternoon at school that day, he walks down the staircase but realized at the bottom of the stairs, Ant and Spider were standing there and watching a video. He paused and debated running back up the stairs to avoid him, but decided to carry on, he walks down the stairs and past the two, not sparing either of them a glance as Spider watched him the whole entire time the Castillo walked by.

Later that night, Romeo watched from his window as Stevie picked up Enya, his best friend dressed up in her black shirt, with a maroon suit jacket and dress pants, her girlfriend walking over to her in a maroon dress, the two matching as they meet in the middle, connecting their lips in a kiss. Romeo smiles, feeling happy for them before turning away and taking a shot from the bottle in his hands. He would've hopped on with them, but didn't wanna ruin their night, he told the two that they should enjoy it, just the two of them.

He gets ready now, pulling on his black dress pants and his black jacket. He drinks a bit more of the liquor before pouring it into a flask he then puts into the inside pocket of his jacket. He takes an Uber to the school, leaning against the window and closing his eyes. When he arrived, he looked around and saw Stevie and Enya on the dance floor, dancing.

He also sees Spider, so he goes off to the side, leaning against the wall and drinking secretly from his flask a few times. He sighs, looking away when he spots Miss Obah. "Oh, Miss." He stops her and Jojo turns to him. "You were right." He nods. "About what?" The woman asked. "All men are fucked. Even me." He says, looking away. "Woah, I never said that." Jojo tells him. "Not in those words." He says, crossing his arms and Jojo merely frowns.

"Romeo, is that all you've been taking from my classes?" She asked and the boy just shrugs. "Makes me really sad. Especially since you're the last remaining boy in SLT." She says and he sighs loudly. "Don't give me a "not all men" speech, please." He begs. "No, no, I wasn't going to. I just don't want you to feel this way at your age. About yourself or other boys." She tells him as he just frowned.

"It's true. Not everyone is capable of change. But if we start believing no one is, then..." She said as he glanced the other way, towards the dance floor where Spider was looking directly at him. She follows her gaze, surprised to see Romeo was looking right at Spider. "Don't worry." He says quietly, now walking away. "Oh, sissy! Remember, your body is a temple not a visiting center." He hears Zoe tell Missy who had just arrived, the girl looking at the heart which she took then tossed away.

"This is why mom don't like you. My God!"

"You okay?" She approached Romeo who just drinks from his flask. "Yeah. Better than ever." He says and the Beckett girl frowns. "Malakai told me you kind of spilled your guts out to him when you said your goodbyes... are you really this hung up over Spencer White?" She asked, tilting her head a little bit to meet his gaze and he finally raised his head.

"You were right, Missy... I'm in love with him." He said and she just frowns, bringing him into her arms. He hugs back tightly before stepping back from her. "I'm done being sad about it or him. Can we just get drunk and enjoy our formal?" He asked her and she just grinned widely. "Yes, hell yes. Ant told me he spiked the juice, let's go and grab some." She said before leading him off to where the drinks were.
