Chapter Nineteen.

      

    ROMEO PACED BACK and forth now, reading over his policies and his arguments, when Enya walks up to him. "Stevie told me... you okay, Ro-ro?" She asked and he sighed, stopping. "I'm trying to focus on the debate." He held up the papers in his hands and she nods. "Good. Yes, focus your energy on that, forget about Spider, forget about what Stevie said to you, she's probably right on all of it--" "Enya." Romeo quickly cut her off.

"Yeah. Focus up, alright? I'm gonna get you some water." She patted his arm before walking away. He sighed, staring down at his papers as Spider now walks up to him, smiling. Stevie's words, "he's just gonna humilate you in front of the whole school, because he's so obviously clearly straight," plays in his mind as the boy stops before him, "I'm gonna get up there and tell everyone now. That I don't wanna be school captain." Spider tells him.

"Are you doing this for me?" Romeo asked, furrowing his brows together at the boy. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm doing this for you." Spider nods, smiling at him and the shorter looks down, sighing. "Also, I don't want all this dumb CUMLORD shit forced on everyone if I do win." The taller said, now glancing around the room and Romeo merely scoffed.

"That's now how it works, Spencer. You gotta do this shit because you actually believe in it, not because you're fucking someone." He said and Spider's smile disappeared, looking at him with a clearly surprised face. "What? No, I--" "I think we should both stop pretending." Romeo cuts him off right away. "What do you mean?" Spider asked, looking worried.

"Us. We can never be together. This is stupid. Alright?" Romeo asked and Spider frowns. "Why not? We haven't even tried." The blond boy says and the brunette shakes his head. "I don't want to." He basically lies through his teeth, looking up at the taller. "Can we... can we just talk about this later? Romeo. We can talk it out, yeah?" Spider tells him quietly, his voice so soft and sounding hurt by his words.

"It's done. I'm done. I have a debate to focus on. Not this stupid shit." He tells him, then he walked past him. "Romeo." Spider calls to him but Romeo kept walking away, feeling a lump form his throat and stings at the back of his eyes. Why did he let Stevie get to him?

"Welcome, everybody, to the school captain debate." Woodsy announced, gesturing to the four podiums set up, Romeo's poster, then Sasha's, Amerie's and Spider's. She claps excitedly with the audience, "the formal will be a answer and question segment. And then we're gonna open it up. I would like to just announce a few rules." The woman says.

"For example, no cheering, no booing, no interruptions, and no exposing of private parts. Yes, I am specifically looking at you, Anthony Vaughn." She looks over at the boy standing with the other candidates and vices. "So, without further ado, here's our candidates! Romeo Castillo, of the NSDA party." She gestured and everyone applauded as he walked up onto the stage first.

"Up next, Sasha So, of the QSMCCALP party." She announced as the girl walked onto stage, waving at everyone before nodding at Romeo who just smiled kindly at her. "Up next, Spencer White, of the C-- of the C-LORDS party." The woman announced and the boy walks onto stage as the CUMLORDS clapped. "Yeah! CUMLORDS!" Ant cheered, making the CUMLORDS all cheer as well.

"Hey, what did I just say, Anthony?" Woodsy says, looking straight at the Vaughn boy. "And finally, Amerie Wadia of the SLT party." She says, but she wasn't here. The applause dies down, "where's Amerie?" Their principal asked. "Is Amerie here?" She asked.

"Jojo?"

Quinni goes up to the stage, climbing up the stairs. "So, uh, Amerie doesn't appear to be here, uh, today. So, uh, instead we have, uh, Quinni for the SLT party." She announced and everyone in the crowd claps.
