𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐬

Chapter One.

THERE THE TWO teenage boys were, kissing passionately in the locker room, Romeo's back now against the wall after Spider spun the two of them around so that he was the one holding the boy against the wall. Then he stopped, pressing a hand flat against Romeo's chest, his own rising up and down. He raised his hand, holding it over his mouth and wiping it away, almost as if he was trying to get rid of the fact they even kissed at all.

Then he glanced down between them, "do you want some help?" He asked and Romeo gulps. "Um... sure?" What he didn't expect was Spider turning him around, his back completely against the boy's bare chest now. He turned his head, wanting another kiss but Spider shook his head. "No kissing." He said quietly.

Romeo accepted it, just enjoying the moment for now. It's the one time they ever shut up, the only time they weren't at each other's throats and arguing with each other. But as soon as it happened, sooner it ended.

After he was done, Romeo turned around and reached for his towel, "let me do it for you too." He said but the blond boy stepped back, kind of pushing him away. "Nah, I'm good. You were the only one into it, mate." He laughed, in that mean way he always laughed and Romeo just frowns. "Fuck you." He says harshly, grabbing his bag and rushing out.

That was three weeks ago. Today, Romeo walks with Stevie next to him, the girl rambling on and on about a video game she began playing over the weekend. "Stevie, you know I love you, but I can't stand hearing about something I know nothing about." He says, looking to his best friend as they walk into their school courtyard now. "Whatever, fine then." Stevie sighs, crossing her arms now.

"Hey, how is Enya doing?" She asked now and Romeo glanced at her. "I don't know. She's still sick, I think." He shrugs, thinking nothing of it as a girl ran out then, screaming, "oi! There's a fully gacked sex map in the old staircase!" The two best friends quickly glance at one another before rushing off after everyone else who was practically sprinting to go see it.

In the staircase was where everyone was standing, laughing, taking photos of the map and looking at all the connections. "Couldn't walk for three days. That's true." Spider said as Ant and Dusty did a handshake. "Woah, dude. You and Romeo?" Ant laughed, looking at Spider and the Castillo just stood there, frozen when he noticed their names were connected.

Two lines, meaning someone knows that Spider gave him a wristy. "That's some fucked up made up shit. Like I'd ever touch him." The tall blond boy scoffed, shoving Ant anyway who just looked at the map, continuing to inspect it. And then that's when Romeo saw it, looking at Stevie to his left right away. "You fucked my sister?" He says and the Miller looks at him, "I--" "Fuck off." He said, brushing past her.

His anger wasn't even towards her. It was towards Spider. "Like I'd ever touch him." Those words played on repeat in his mind as he left the staircase, shaking his head and Stevie just stood there, frowning as she looked at the map. He really couldn't care less, good for her, she actually only ever gets her heartbroken by girls but he thinks it'd be good for her, and Enya. They'd be a good match.

But he also didn't want to find out from a sex map that exposed everyone in their grade. He sits alone at first in the gymnasium, everyone being gathered for an assembly. "This seat available?" He glanced up to see Stevie standing there and he quickly looks away, not even answering. She sat down anyway, knowing he isn't even mad at her.

"So... you and Spider?" She began, glancing at her best friend. "It's just a stupid rumour, Stevie." He answered rather immediately and she nods, looking away as everyone began filling up the seats in the gym. She only wanted to know, because he knows how she feels about him. She actually despises Spider, because of how misogynistic he is and voices his opinions a lot about her as well.

How she "lost her feminine touch" and use to be "really hot before." He's a perverted jerk. She hates him, and she can't believe that Romeo has gone and hooked up with him. He may deny it, but considering his steadfast refusal when she brought it up, it could only mean that it happened, and he's pretending that it didn't. She stared at his side profile and realized she can't even say anything at all.

Because if she did, she would be in no place to talk really, seeing as how she hooked up with her best friend's sister. But it's the fact that Spencer White is probably the worst person in their whole grade, and the fact that he might have been involved with Romeo makes Stevie get the heebie-jeebies.

"Sit down, Amerie." Their principal now spoke into the mic, which made the girl go back and sit at her seat between Missy and Sasha. The assembly begins after a couple of silent moments, "I am a woke woman. I enjoy sex as much as the next person." Principal Woods began and everyone laughs.

"Yes. But reputation is everything and this map has jeopardized your reputations and the reputation of our school. And on the first day back. We are currently in the process of contacting all the parents of everyone on this map and have strongly suggested that there are to be no more parties, shindigs or gathos." Everyone exclaims in disappointment at the woman. "You don't have the right to do that, Miss." Spider shouted.

"Hey! Hey! Unsupervised parties equals alcohol. Alcohol equals poor choices. The risk-taking behaviors outlined on this map are unacceptable. Hartley High prides itself on being a safe environment. But clearly this is a wake-up call that we are not doing enough. Oh, and we will find out who did this. Get to class." The woman now demands. "Go, go, go." She adds after and everyone got up. Romeo rushed ahead and Stevie struggled to catch up to him, sighing as she watched him, now slowly coming to a stop in the hallway.

Later on in the afternoon, Stevie now approached Romeo who's sitting down by a tree on the oval, listening to music through his headphones. "So... do you wanna talk now?" She asked and he glanced up, now taking off his headphones. "Talk about what?" He asked and she just shrugs her shoulders.

"Oh, I don't know... maybe the fact you're angry at me for no reason? You're the one that always wanted me to go for it with Enya. Why the switch up now?" The Miller girl asked as the Castillo boy just glanced away. "It's not about me and her at all. I know that and you know that." She says and he just looks down.

"The stuff with Spider and me is true... I just didn't want you to know and think low of me." He says quietly and she sat down next to him. "I would never think anything badly of you. You're my best friend." She says and he turns his head to look at her right away. "Yeah?" He says and she instantly nods her head.

"I love you, dude. We grew up together, we're practically brother and sister." She said, then she grimaced, as Romeo laughs, covering his mouth. "I shouldn't be saying that--" "yeah. No, you really shouldn't. That would make you a sister fucker." He laughed even harder and she gasped, punching him on the arm. "Ow! That hurt, dickhead." He says, punching her arm back and she shoved him away.

Just then, the intercom goes on and an announcement follows, "will the following students please meet at Classroom 5D: Amerie Wadia, Harper McLean, Sasha So, Missy Beckett, Dustin Reid, Spencer White, Anthony Vaughn, Darren Rivers, Quinn Gallagher-Jones," Stevie snorts, "what a bunch of losers," she says and not long after, "Stevie Miller," which made Romeo laugh at her next.

"Romeo Castillo."

"Not so funny now, is it?" Stevie laughs, standing up, before the two begun making their way to the classroom, while the announcement goes on, "Douglas Piggott, Malakai Mitchell." As they arrive to the classroom, Miss Obah stands in the doorway with Prinicipal Woods. "Hi Miss Obah." Stevie smiles at the woman. "Hi. Welcome."
