The sun shone brightly over the Atlantis waterpark, casting a sparkling glow on the deep blue waters.
The air was filled with the joyful noise of families splashing, laughing, and having fun.
Jack, Alex, Zack, and their families had finally arrived, and excitement buzzed around them.
Zack and Maya took off towards the single rider slides.
"Maya! Wait!" Zack called bitterly after the 12 year old.
"C'mon BIG BRO. STOP MOPING AROUND." Maya whined playfully at her brothers bitter attitude.
Jack chuckled as their banter as Zack stomped off.
Jack and Alex headed toward the tubed water slides, grabbing a double tube. As they climbed the stairs to the top of the slide, Alex glanced back at Jack, a playful grin on his face.
"Ready for this?" Alex asked.
Alex had decided to let loose and enjoy himself. He was literally on a dream vacation. No use for him to be so tense. He knew he had a part to play- but he figured it would probably help Jack more if Alex was relaxed and comfortable.
Jack chuckled. "You know it."
They sat on the double tube, with Alex in the front and Jack behind him. The lifeguard gave them a nod, and they pushed off, hurtling down the slide with squeals of delight. The twists and turns were thrilling, and they emerged at the bottom, splashing into the pool and laughing.
They spent the next hour floating down the lazy river, most of the time- they kind of sat in silence, as they enjoyed the gentle current. It wasn't an awkward silence.
Just two dudes relaxing in the Bahamas.
"We are about to float past your brother and sister- in- law tanning in the beach chairs along the edge of the river again. Dean keeps staring us down. Do you trust me? " Alex asked quickly.
"Yeah." Jack said nonchalantly.
Alex leaned back against Jack.
Jack took in a sharp breath at the closeness.
They were mildly affectionate so far. But this? Cuddling on a tube while on the lazy river? That was commitment.
"Wrap your arms around me." Alex gently commanded.
There was a sense of urgency as they approached the area Alex spotted Jack's brother Dean earlier.
Jack quickly wrapped his arms around Alex to keep them both steady on the tube. Pulling Alex close in his lap.
Even Jack had to admit- It was a peaceful contrast to the excitement of the slides.
"This is nice," Alex said, tilting his head to look up at Jack.
"Yeah, it is," Jack agreed, his voice soft.
Jack can't help but admire the way the sun reflected off Alex's eyes when he looked up at him this way.
Even Jack could admit how attractive Alex is. He knew it from the moment they met on the first day he moved into their on-campus apartment.
You'd be stupid not to realize it.
In terms of fake boyfriends, Jack could do worse than Alex.
Jack had never fully given space to Alex and his attractiveness. Their attitudes towards each other thus far had tainted it all.
Not to mention- Jack was insanely attracted to Zack until this point.
It was complicated. Jack was hung up on Zack in a very feral and sexual way, Not in a loving way.
