I dont know how to start this- ANYWAY-

I've been rewatching YHS and rethink some of the characters and how similar they can be when putting their facts side by side

And I feel like Kyran and Alec are similar in a few ways. JUST LISTEN- PLEASE- HEAR ME OUT-

Like- They've been mature for there ages. Alec was most likely sooner and nore- "graphic" but Kyran soon came after him in the mature parts.

I've always Imagined Kyran being more of a parent in his household then his actual parents, seeking for validation and wanting to make everything perfect, to look perfect, to just.. make everything about him and his life perfect even if he had to destroy himself to achieve it. Or even he's just desperate for some kind of love because COMMEE ONN how can Kyran be the eldest and have 7 siblings and NOT be a tad bit neglected? (And possibly overworked bc why was the only thing that Funneh, Gold and Kyran did in the 2 or 3 episodes on Kyrans family farm that WASN'T doing tasks his parents asked 😒) He also seemed desperate for some kind of love in season 1 when first introduced, like he fell head first into trying to have a relationship with Meghan WITHOUT questioning her age or considering that Meghan is a little- "Clingy" as a polite way to put it. And after Meghan, he was also so so SO desperate for Gold because he STILL tried to have a lover even after the date with Meghan. If I was Kyran I would've taken atleast a small break before jumpin back into having a crush or just wanting to find a lover in general.

With Alec, Since I've been more intrested in his character (Thanks BrokeDonut1 for causing this) I've began to realize he is the same, in the important ways. Alec probably had taught himself how to cook, clean, organize and just take care of a whole house 2 adults and another kid that's younger then him because his parents were most likely incompetent. I'd honestly say that Alec's mom and dad "Partied to hard" and pop! ✨Family✨
But Alec's dad was incompetent and probably didn't even care and I'm sure Alec's mom probably did actually TRY but she wasn't prepared and didn't really know how to take care of children or even took the time to consider the money problems that they would face. Did she even have a job in the OG series? Because she reeks in 'stay at home mom' to me. And since Alec was probably HEAVILY neglected by his dad (BC in season 1, technically his mom left FIRST, leaving Aly and Alec alone with their father and they were DEFINITELY neglected. THEN in season 2 Alec's mom went back to probably try and fix the family back to normal but then Alec's dad just left, aka, the reason why they're broke.) That is probably why Alec IMMEDIATELY reciprocated Funneh's feelings when he was first introduced because do you remember how quick to go on the first date? Ppl say the concert ep was the first date but NO, IT WAS THE MOVIE THEATER, IT WAS JUST A DOUBLE DATE BASICALLY-. Like Alec likes the IDEA of Funneh and they way she makes him feel, he likes feeling loved and cherished by someone and when Funneh showed even the slightest, smallest, TEENY TINY BIT OF IT- you know he was gonna take the chance.

So it's like

•Desperate to feel loved and will do whatever they can to get it.

• Responsible from a young age.

• Neglect.

(Kyran being neglected is to an EXTENT, his parents did still love him and probably tried to give him attention as much as possible but then got distracted with his younger siblings. It's possible for a parent to love their Kid so so much but still neglect there child. It's also probably more likely to happen to children who hide there emotions too (aka the type of kid Kyran probably was), so when a parent DOSE be like "Oh shoot, I'm sorry i should be giving you attention-" a child that hides there feelings, will forgive their parent even tho they NEED the attention-)

(Alec was still HEAVILY neglected 10× more and it was mostly on purpose bc of his dad. I just want to get that point across bc Alec's trauma is the worst out any character in the series and I know that-)

And another thing I feel like seems right is the fact that since Alec and Kyran have these similarities is one of the other reasons why Kyran hated Alec in the beginning of the series.

He hates that he can see his negative parts of himself playing out through Alec and he doesn't want to be like Alec. He possibly tries to NOT be like Alec but then in the end he just becomes more like him in certain ways.

Idk, just a thought.
