2 Weeks later...

Sasha was laid back on the doctor's table, "It's going to be a little cold." The doctor squeezed the clear gel on her stomach. "Damn right, it's cold." She frowned making the lady giggle.

"Before we get started— do you want to know the sex of the baby?" The lady asked. Sasha thought for a second before saying, "No. You can give her the results though." She pointed at me.

I frowned, "Huh?" I wasn't good at keeping secrets. "Yeah, I'm having a small gender reveal, I want you to be in charge." She said.

I didn't argue with her, she was already going through a lot and I didn't want to add on.

"Okay," I said.

The women went on to let us hear the heartbeat, and see the baby floating around in its sac. I watched as Sasha smiled at the black and white screen.

It was the first time she showed any emotions outside of anger and sadness, so I was really happy for her.

I discreetly pulled out my phone and snuck a picture of the beautiful moment.

After the appointment, I dropped her off at home and headed over to Amir's place.

We'd been hanging out heavily, most of our time was spent getting high and watching throwback movies. Oh and having sex...

I didn't know how we got there but it was our new norm. I'd come over, he'd smoke, I'd take an edible, then one thing would lead to another.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it, because I most certainly did but it didn't feel right.

Every time we were finished I felt convicted. I was supposed to be saving myself until marriage, not sleeping around with no title. I wanted to stop but then again, I didn't.

"You quiet." He sat down looking at me quizzically. "What's up?" He frowned.

I looked at him with a smile, "Nothin." I lied making him suck his teeth, "Stop lying, I can tell when something is on ya mind." He said seriously. I contemplated on if I wanted to say something or not before saying, "You know how we have been— you know..." I started.

"Having sex?" He frowned. I nodded, "Yeah."

"What about it?" He asked.

I avoided eye contact, "Well I just don't think we should be. It just doesn't feel right." I said.

"What do you mean? The way I be having you yelling and shi-" he said making me cut him off. "I just think we should wait— I mean I wanna wait until I'm married," I said.

I didn't know how he was going to take it considering we'd already opened that bag, "I mean I'm not gonna rush you. I like you and if you want to wait it's cool with me." His words caught me by surprise.

I thought maybe he would be mad, or even irritated. "Really?" I raised my eyebrows. "Yeah. Why do you sound so surprised?" He asked. I shrug, "I thought you would react another way." I admitted.

"Nah. I'm fuckin with you. Whateva you on, I'm with." He said making me smile.

I abruptly pulled myself into a hug, "Now stop questioning my loyalty and let's watch this movie." He kissed my forehead before turning his attention to the TV.

I woke up and the sun was no longer up. Grabbing my phone I looked at the time, "Crap!" I stood up to gather all my things, "Wake up, it's 1:30." I said as I stepped into my shoes.

Amir woke up confused, "Huh?" He asked. "Get up!" I shouted. "I was supposed to be home thirty minutes ago," I stressed.

I raised from the couch, "Man you have grown as fuck, yo people trippin'." He grumbled as he started to get dressed. "Too bad, they pay the bill and I have to follow the rules." I tapped my foot against the hardwood floor as I watched him put on his shoes.

After about fifteen minutes we pulled up in front of my house, "I'll see you later." I said leaning over to kiss him. "Alright. Call me when you get in." He said.

I got out of the car and walked up to the porch. I used my key, trying to be as quiet as possible. I let out a sigh as I successfully walked in without making a peep. Locking the door behind me, I made a beeline for my room.

Just as I walked into my room I regretted it, my parents were sitting on my bed looking furious. "Hey." I smiled awkwardly.

Still, their faces were stale, "Do you see what time it is?" My mother asked. "It's 2 in the morning, Naomi." She answered not giving me time to say anything.

I wanted to lie and say I was with Sasha but it wouldn't slide, plus why should I have to lie? I'm grown.

"Yes, I know," I said.

"You've been inching in little by little after curfew and we've let it slide for about a week now, but 2 AM!?" My father frowned. "You come home smelling like smoke, your eyes are low and your clothes look fondled. What has gotten into you?" He squinted.

"Who's the boy?" My mother folded her arms.

They didn't know I was seeing Amir again. They weren't fans of him, nobody was, but I wasn't about to keep hiding him.

"Amir," I answered.

My dad pinched the bridge of his nose and looked down, while my mom shook her head. The room fell silent but it felt far from it.

"I thought you were done with that thug." My dad looked at me with disgust. "He's not a thug," I argued. "You're so gullible, Naomi." He gave me an annoyed look.

I didn't say anything, I didn't have anything to say.

"This will be the last conversation about you respecting this house. You'll come in at or before 1, you won't smell like smoke and you will look untouched. If you mess up even just one time, you'll have to find another place to live." He said making my jaw drop.

"What!? That's harsh considering I do everything I'm supposed to, and I'm grown. No I don't pay bills but I could, if it'll stop y'all from trying to control me like a child." I said looking at my mother for help.

He put his hand up, "I said what I said Nay, you do what you want with the information." He stood up and walked out of the room with my mother right behind him.

Next week...

My chest heaved up and down as I fell to the bed breathless. I already know I said we were supposed to stop but it was hard. It's like buying your favorite snack and not eating it, just teasing yourself.

"Shit." Amir smiled. "You gettin' better gave me a run for my money." He rolled over to grab a blunt from the nightstand.

I smirked, "You think so."

"Hell yeah, the first time you was like a damn ironing board. Stiff as fuck." He joked making my face drop. "Igh, you doing too much now."

He laughed, "I'm dead ass but yo pussy good so aye." He shrugged.

"Stop." I covered my mouth.

"What are you doing after your graduation?" He changed the subject. "Well I hope my parents threw me something, but the way they have been acting lately, I don't know," I said.

"Fuck 'em, I'll do some for you. Plus I got a surprise for you." He took a pull from his blunt. I used to hate the smell but lately, I've gotten used to it.

After talking about the plans he had for my graduation I was excited. He suggested I have a photoshoot, nothing traditional though, something sexy. He was hiring a makeup artist and hairstylist! He had me feeling like a superstar.

"So we should probably go shopping soon? The graduation is in two weeks so we have to do the photoshoot stuff soon." I said. "Cool, you pick a day and I'll schedule everything. All you have to do is pick out your fits and show up." He said.

"We should go today," I said.

"I won't be able to go but I'll pay." He said.

I pouted, "No, I want you to go with me."

"I wanna go too but I got shit to handle, ask ya best friend." He said.

I rolled my eyes, "Fine."
