A few weeks go by and both Denise and Richie go to the store and buy food to make, food for potatoes salad, macaroni salad, chips and dip, onions, peppers, hamburger and hotdogs, along with buns.... $250 dollars later, they walked into Richie's house, and put every thing away. Richie took Denise in his hands and carried her into the living room, they started to make out and all of sudden the door bell rang.
"Stay here." Richie winked at Denise, he went to the door to see who it was. It was his mom.
"Hi mom." Richie smiled at his mom, he helped her inside the front door.
"Hi Richie dear, don't say a word, get my things from the taxi and pay the driver." Richie didn't say a word but he was shocked to see her. Richie paid the cab driver and bought her luggage inside. Denise blushed when she heard Richie and his mom talk quietly.
"I thought I told you I was going to check on you in a few days, you didn't have to come." Richie helped his mom talk to the living room.
"I know you said that but I missed you and a certain someone called me last night and told me you have a new friend." Richie stopped walking and looked at his mom in the eye.
"Mom... you just got hurt, you could have called me and besides.... I was planning on staying for a while anyway." Richie started walking again with his mom. Deep in his thoughts, his mom stopped him.
"You love her don't you?" His mom winked.
"What are you talking about?" Richie smiled.
"You never had that look with Heather." Richie sighed softly to his mom and dropped his head.
"Okay, you got me, next time you're wanting to see me, I'm on the next plane to New Jersey, okay?" Richie hugged his mom. They both started walking again to the living room and Denise flushed when she saw his mom.
"Hi... I mean hello." Denise got off the couch and greeted Richie's mom, Denise lightly hugged her. Richie's mom smiled when she saw Denise and vise versa. Richie smiled too.
"Mom... this is Denise and Denise, this is my mom, Mrs. Sam..." Richie's mom stopped him from going further into talking introductions.
"Call me Joan... not Mrs. Sambora but I do appreciate your thoughtfulness." Richie's mom sat next to Denise and Richie sat across from them.
"So... how old are you?" Richie rolled his eyes.
"Mom." Richie's mom looked at him.
"It's okay Richie, I'm 40. And I know what you're going to say, I'm too young for Richie, and that Richie is old... I'm not good enough for him, I'm just a young girl who wants his money and his fame... I'm just another hit who's after his guys... sorry Richie.... Well I'm going to tell you now, I'm not after his money, his fame or his looks, I like Richie's music, he's a good father and I think it might be too late for me to have children of my own. I love Richie and he loves me." Joan looked at Denise and smiled at her, Denise smiled back.
"And?" Joan smirked at Denise, Richie smiled.
"I... wanted to let you know." Denise blushed.
"It takes a lot of guts to be honest with your boyfriend's mother." Richie grinned at his mom.
"Actually mom... Denise and I are actually partners." Joan looked at Richie and smiled.
"What do you mean?" Joan looked at Denise.
"We had a quiet ceremonial thing last night, we didn't want to get married legally because of my past, a piece of paper doesn't mean anything." Denise moved over, so Richie can sit next to her. Richie smiled at Denise and kissed her lips lightly, mostly in front of his mother.
"What did you say?" Joan smiled at Richie and Denise, they both smiled at Joan.
"I just told Denise that I love her and that I want to be together with her forever, and I gave her a ring." Denise showed Joan the ring.
"Very nice but you don't have a ring." Richie smirked at his own mother.
"I'll get one eventually." Denise smiled.
"Let me pick it out, only fair and before you say anything, I'm buying it myself." Richie huffed.
"Okay fine." Richie smiled.
"I'll get some water bottles." Richie walked into the kitchen for a moment and got some water bottles for himself, his mom and Denise.
"So what was last night like?" Denise blushed.
"Um am I supposed to tell you this, you're my mother in law now... but since you asked, it was fine." Joan laughed out loud. Richie came back into the living room, to find his mom laughing up a storm and Denise blushing.
"What did I miss?" Richie sat down next to Denise and took her hand in his. Richie took a sip of his water.
"Your mom asked me how it was last night?"
Richie chocked on his water. Denise shook her head."What? Mom." Denise walked into the kitchen to grab some paper towels for Richie.
"What? I remember when it was my first time after getting and making you." Richie covered his ears.
"Oh my god... mom. Not now please." Richie chuckled for a moment.
"I remember you being in love for the wrong reasons and some for the right reasons. You must know by now how I love you and I wish for you to be happy again." Joan smiled.
"Mom, I am happy. I'm sorry... I'm a big boy now, I'm not little... damn I'm almost 70... wow." Denise smirked at Richie, he flushed.
"Not too fast.... Slow down." Richie smiled.
"Yes I know... 4th of July is the day after tomorrow, we are having a party, you'll come to mom." Richie hugged his mom. Denise smiled.
"I'm glad, it's been a while since I've seen the other boys and their families." Richie smiled.
Denise and Joan talked for the rest of the night.
