Hezekiah's POV

Pacifica Vista, early evening...

"This is nice," my husband said to me as we walked across the shores of the beach, taking in the setting sun. After spending two hours in bed making love, we decided that it was overdue for a bit of fresh air. Of course, all the visitors and residents of Pacifica Vista knew of what had happened and gave us well-wishes. One of the younger kids handed us a giant bouquet of calla lillies as a dark-skinned older woman gave us a box of freshly-baked sweet biscuits (which were shared with everyone). "Who would've imagined that we got to where we are now by being friends back on Earth?"

"I know, and a lot of people thought that we weren't meant to be seen together," I replied as I grasped his hand. "A jock and a nerd being friends or lovers would only happen in stories on Wattpad or Inkitt. But still, here we are."

"Hey, do you miss any part of your life back on Earth?"

I looked into Chance's eyes. "What do you mean?" I wanted to know as we faced each other.

"I mean, do you miss the people who truly cared for you when you were alive? Do you wished that you could've lived a little more rebelliously?"

I thought for a moment. "Not really, not after what you said when we first came here," I replied honestly. "After that reality check, I never really thought more about the what-if's regarding to life on Earth. I mean, you said that the people who never cared for me were worth being miserable over. As far as Minnie Jean, my brother, and the others are concerned; I do think about them and wished that I could see them one last time. But again, you said that I needed to focus on living in the moment and taking part in the now."

"True," Chance hummed. "So, Hezekiah Dalton, what is in your future?"

"Right now, it's being with you," I replied sweetly, granting him a small kiss on the cheek and caressing his perfectly-formed ass.

"How touching," I heard God say as He and Lucifer emerged from out of nowhere, looking handsome in resort wear. "No need to worry, boys, we're only here for one final part of your soul-mating ceremony- something that might benefit you both in the future."

He clapped His hands twice before a giant boom of lightning came from nowhere as Chance and I were soon surrounded by gold lights.

I shut my eyes to avoid being blinded...before opening them once more to find a more-mature version of Chance wearing a black swim brief that hugged his athletic assets perfectly. He was more and more handsome than he was as a teen.

"Babe?" I said, surprised at how my voice was deeper. "You-you look amazing!"

"So do you," Chance replied, smiling widely as a floor-length mirror appeared.

I gasped, stepping back as I took in my reflection. Gone was the slightly-lanky teenager with coily hair and a small tan. In his place was an athletic older man with a tanned complexion and my brown hair in a cropped crewcut. I now wore a green speedo that showed off my prominent erection perfectly. "Is this really me?" I asked hesitantly.

"That it is," God intoned, smiling gently. "And it suits you since you're a demigod, Hezekiah. I meant what I said when Lucifer and I told you that you were originally meant to be a part of the Nexus as one. Now that you're here, you and Chance are to be a part of the haven that I created for loners and rejects like yourselves."

"Definitely," Lucifer agreed. "You both were denied a lot on Earth, but you two can thrive wherever you are in the Nexus. All we ask is that you be fruitful and prosperous in all your dealings."

"Thank you," I said gratefully as Chance came to my side. "This is the best gift ever."

"I bet it is," came a familiar voice. "Damn, boys! You two look really good!"

Chance and I whirled around to see a grinning younger version of Landon, the young man now de-aged as if he was in college yet still having that cheeky persona and athletic body that complemented his black speedo. "Landon!" I exclaimed. "You found your soulmate?"

He nodded, pointing in the direction of the ocean where a beefy Black male around his age was emerging out of the waters. "Say hello to DeSean Priestly, former quarterback for the Falcons," he replied. "Turns out, he was killed by a spiteful girlfriend."

"Charmed," DeSean, who definitely looked as if he could be Landon's perfect boyfriend replied in a Southern drawl. He turned to me. "Hey, you're that Chamblee-Dalton fella everyone's been mentioning at the Afterlife Station, right?"

I nodded. "Nice to meet you."

"No, man. The pleasure's all mine. So, what's your story?"

I inhaled deeply, knowing that I wanted to do as a demigod. "Let's discuss this over drinks at the resort," I suggested.

"Capital idea," Chance replied.

And just like that, folks, we're at the end of this story...but we have one final part coming up and we're fast-forwarding things to one year later! You're going to like what's ahead, folks, so stay tuned!
