“WHAT?!” Aphrodite exclaimed after hearing what her sister just told her.
“May pervert na matandang lalaki na umaaligid aligid sayo? Bakit hindi mo sinabi sa'kin? Paano kung napahamak ka, ha?” napabusangot si Maki sa sinabi ng Ate niya.
“Mas prinoblema mo pa talaga yan, I was just asked to marry Cielo Madrigal, herself.” saad ni Maki dito.
“Ayy oo, I'm even more concerned about diyan sa Mister Nuebe na yan.” galit na turan ni Aphrodite at napailing na lang si Maki.
“Nuevez kasi, Aphie.”
“I don't care, kung sino ang magbabanta na manakit o mambastos sa'yo dadaan muna siya sa butas ng karayom.” mariing sabi ng nakakatandang kapatid nito sakanya.
“Weh? Wala nga tayong karayom dito eh–”
“I'm serious, Maki.” Aphrodite deadpans.
“Ayy, sorry naman. Forget Mr. Nuevez kasi, pero real naman na forda may pakana talaga iyong oat na iyon sa pinagdadaanan ko ngayon. Ang akin lang is, bakit ako ang nakita nang lalaking iyon.” Maki said, groaning.
“Wait– Silvestre Nuevez? Parang familiar 'yung name na yan, I don't know where or when but I've heard it before.” Aphrodite said, pondering hard.
“Syempre, tanyag na businessman kaya 'yon and he's one of the largest investor of the BI & NI Company.” Maki said, shrugging her shoulder, plopping her back down on her bed.
“So, are you gonna agree with her marriage proposal?” Aphrodite asked after awhile at humilata din sa tabi ni Maki.
“I don't know,” Maki turned her back to her older sister, facing away, blankly staring at the glass door of the balcony.
“Gusto ko siya, pero hindi naman ako desperada para pakasalan siya dahil lang gusto kong mapalapit sakaniya. Tapos, 'yung tungkol naman kay Mr. Nuevez, I think may ibang paraan pa. And then there's Cielo's, Lolo's wish na makasal siya. I think, she'll figure it out eventually, if I were her she wouldn't sacrifice her happiness over her grandfather's will, mahirap kaya makasal sa taong hindi mo gusto.” mahabang lintaya ni Maki at nagpaalwas ng malalim na buntong-hininga.
Aphrodite can feel her sister's troubled mind, heart, and soul just by hearing her talk about her thoughts.
“Give yourself a time to think about it, Bunso. Hindi naman ata minamadali ni Cielo hingin ang sagot mo.” Maki hums beside her sister as an answer.
“Right! Oo nga pala, next week na ang graduation mo 'di ba? Pati nila Sapphira at Gabrielle.” Maki immediately sat up when she remembered.
“Are you that excited to get me off of your back as well?” pabirong sabi ni Aphrodite sa kapatid niya na agad na nagpa-nguso dito.
“What're you saying, ayaw nga kitang umalis eh.” Maki honestly said, looking down and starts fidgeting her fingers.
