Chapter 35: A Perfect Birthday Gift

It's been a couple of minutes since Cielo had leave for work and Maki was left alone to herself inside the latter's room. She remained lying down on the bed with nothing in mind to do, she couldn't just possibly walk out of that door knowing she isn't wearing anything other than an oversized shirt. She was occupied to herself while scrolling through her news feed when a knock on the door caught her attention. She immediately lifted herself up and went to open the door, slightly ajar as she hide behind it.

Aling Cresinta greeted her sight, a couple of shopping bags dangling on her arms, Maki immediately opened the door wide and help the older woman with the bags carrying them inside with Aling Cresinta following her behind before closing the door. Agad na nagsalubong ang kilay ni Maki sa dami ng shopping bags na dala ng matandang babae.

Flashback

20 minutes ago

“You can use mine, but-” Cielo lowered her head and lean forward to whisper something on the younger girl's ear.

Maki's eyes widened upon hearing what the latter had just muttered, just to knit her eyebrows afterwards.

“What're you talking about?” Maki asked.

Cielo leaned back and let out a sigh.

"I said, you can use mine but I doubt you'll agree to what I have in mind in exchange for it. So, I'm just gonna buy you a pair of new ones." Cielo said.

"Ano ba 'yon? Iisang pares lang naman ang hihiramin ko, tsaka lalabhan ko naman ng maayos bago ibalik sa'yo." nakakunot noong saad ni Maki.

Cielo stare intently at the latter with a blank look on her face, Maki can feel the hard stare that the older girl is giving her, it's like Cielo's looking through her soul. The younger girl couldn't help but to look away.

"Are you sure you want to know?" Maki suddenly get ticked by the latter's words.

Her gaze averting to Cielo.

"Hindi ako nakikipag-biruan, Cielo." Maki said, seriousness lacing on her tone.

"Neither am I." Maikling sagot ni Cielo sa dalaga.

"What is it kasi-" The younger woman's words immediately got cut off when Cielo pulled her by the waist, closer. Just enough for their bodies to touch.

Maki couldn't help but to be flustered when she feel a bulge touching just above of her abdomen. Her eyes expanding a little because of the realization, she immediately looked away, avoiding the intense gaze that the older girl is giving her.

"I guess, you figured already." for unknown reason Maki heard the raspiness in Cielo's voice that makes her body to immediately react because of it.

With all of the strength she can muster, Maki pushed Cielo's body away leaving a safe distance between them, her gaze turning into glare as her orbs fixed on the latter.

"Quit it, Cielo." Maki said, sharply.

Cielo on the other hand was quick to regain her demeanor as she cleared her throat and fixed her coat, looking over at Maki with a gaze that Maki couldn't decipher.
