Chapter 47

"Alright annnddd.....done!" Hiccup drops his pen to the ground admiring the newest addition to his map. Toothless peers over his shoulder "what do you think, bud?" Hiccup asks, scratching his dragons chin, Toothless coos.
"Done as in done done? Or done as in just that piece done?" Tuffnut questions, looking down. Hiccups eyes flicker towards Tuffnut then back down to the paper laid out in-front of him "uhhhh, the second one."

"How truly big this world is may forever be a mystery." You say, shuffling closer to Hiccup "this already is huge." You trace your finger along the paper, he chuckles softly "I feel we have a long way to go."
"How long exactly?" Snotlout questions, ping of annoyance in his voice, Astrid glares at him, Ruffnut leans over to her brother "he has a point, we are missing the boar fight finale right now."

"I mean, if you guys wanna leave." Hiccup pauses, taking a deep breath in "then go right ahead, I just thought it would be nice for all of us to spend the day together."

Silence.

Hiccup keeps his eyes firmly to the floor, his fingers curl into the fabric of his trousers, gripping it tightly.
"We don't get to do this much anymore." Astrid says "and you three." She turns to them her bright blue eyes staring daggers, she can't even finish her sentence she scoffs at them and turns back to you "are you okay?"
"I'm good." You reply, kneeling down next to Hiccup who hadn't moved "they're just being air heads." You whisper, he doesn't react, you look up at snotlout and the twins, giving them a stare, Snotlout clears his throat "I was only kidding, chief, you know me! Think I'm getting hungry!" His laugh painfully awkward.

Hiccup doesn't say anything as he folds up his map and tucks it away safely, he stands up and brushes past everyone climbing onto Toothless and the two of them shoot off, disappearing in seconds.
"Well bravo." Astrid says lowly "you three continue to prove you are complete idiots." She smacks Snotlout round the back of his head, he groans rubbing the now sore spot.

"Well, now what?" Tuffnut asks, Fishlegs shakes his head "don't you guys have a bore fight to go observe?"
"Ouch fishy! That was a stinging tone."
"Okay, well I'm going to go make some notes about this new island." He calls meatlug and they both walk away.

You fly back to Berk and land outside your house. You slide off Spear and prepare a large bowl of fish then walk towards the main hall and walk inside, it was empty, well almost.
At the back of the room, a familiar pair of large green eyes illluminate the dimly lit room. A loud coo followed by footsteps echo as Toothless comes bounding over, nuzzling against you "hey buddy." You giggle, scratching behind his ear. He walks with you towards Hiccup's desk.

"Hey babe" Hiccup says not looking up, seemingly very locked into whatever he was writing. You watch him for a moment, Toothless lifts his tail and smacks Hiccups pen from his hand, Hiccup doesn't flinch.
You walk around the table and stand behind him and slide your hands around his shoulders, joining your hands across his chest leaning into him, he reaches up resting one hand atop of yours.
You lean down further, resting your head on his shoulder, he lets out a soft exhale "are you okay?" You ask, he lets go of your hands and leans forward "I'm fine, why wouldn't I be?" You frown "Hiccup..."

He stands up "seriously I'm fine!" His voice cracking as he tries to sound his happy self, lips forced up into a smile, you cross your arms giving him a look.
"I have a lot to do anyways so, it's not all doom and gloom." He scans around for his pen "bud, where did you fling the pen?"
Toothless lets out a grumble and pushes him lightly "hey! What's with you?"
You pat the dragons side "he might be hungry." Hiccup picks his pen up off the floor "most likely, uh I'll get to it in a bit, just got to finish this."

"Hiccup, you're literally re writing plans for the training arena. Exact replicas." You say "n-no there's some changes in here." His words stuttering, you grab the pen from his hand "you can't lie to me."
"(Y/n), please give it back."
