Losing control (Hiccup x Reader)

Chapter 15

The next morning, you open your eyes and groggily look around, you roll on your side and come face to face with Hiccup, he was laying on his stomach, one arm draped over your hip, the other tucked under his pillow. You gently move his fringe from his eyes and he sighs contently. You gaze at him for a while, wondering what was going on in his mind, he seemed lonely last night, wanting you there with him. You'd seen him around a lot when you were growing up, he was often alone, the gang frequently teased him and left him out...maybe he was scared of it happening again.
You slowly peel his arm off your hip and stand up, you un plait your hair, letting it fall freely down your shoulders and walk to his desk. It was covered with papers which had drawings of dragons, he had a talent, you graze your finger over the paper and smile. There were lots of Toothless in all sorts of poses, some funny and some serious. You notice a piece of paper sticking out of one of his journals. Curious, you open the book eyes widening. He had drawn you. A simple sketch with you kneeling on the floor looking down at your hands which were emitting a power ball, on your head was a flower crown, and you had your own dragon wings emitting gracefully from your back. Your heart swells, it was a beautiful drawing.

You had to go to work, you put the drawing back, fix your hair and clothes and crawl back onto the bed.
"Hiccup....Hiccup!" You shake him lightly
"Hmmmm?"
He peeks his eyes open ever so slightly and stretches "I've got to go, Gothi will be waiting for me." You whisper, he groans as he stretches his limbs and slowly sits up, you chuckle at his messy hair "guess I have to get up too." He croaks, voice thick with sleep "most of the village is up already." You say "plus I can imagine a certain someone will be on the-" and on cue, the ceiling and walls start shaking along with loud thumping.
"There he is!" You giggle, Hiccup rolls his eyes and leans over the bed, fumbling around looking for this prosthetic. He clips it on and stands up.
"Well, I'll see you around probably." You say, he smiles sleepily "I'll try and get some free time later so we can go for a fly together." He says, you nod "I look forward to it!"
He chuckles softly and kisses your cheek then whispers "have a good day."
"You too."
You look deep into his forest green eyes and find yourself being drawn in, something was brewing inside you, something you wanted to say to him, but you were nervous about it. He walks you to his front door, smiling and leaning against the frame as you walk away. Toothless jumps down from the roof and charges inside almost knocking Hiccup over.
As you walk towards Gothi's hut, you can't stop the smile creeping up on your lips, you could see it clear as day.
You were in love.

The morning passed by quickly, you hadn't seen Gregory yet much to your relief. Gothi didn't need you for the rest of the day, supplies were full as where the jars.
You'd bumped into Fishlegs and the twins and spent some time with them.
Then Gregory makes his appearance, you mentally sigh as he walks over, greeting everyone and winking at you to which you glare at him.
Every time no one was looking, Gregory would make small moves, rubbing your arm or back. It was getting really irritating. Your very obvious annoyance wasn't sinking into his skull.

It wasn't long before Hiccup came over, he greets you with a kiss on your cheek, you notice Gregory frowning at the two of you.
"You guys up for a group fly?" Hiccup suggests "heck yes!" Snotlout fist pumps the air "Gregory can ride with you." Hiccup adds, Snotlout shrugs "fine by me."

As you flew along you kept as far away from Hookfang as much as you could, staying closer to Astrid and Stormfly. The clouds were starting to darken, a sign of a possible storm. You knew Spear hated them and made him very jumpy.
You all stop off at an island, you approach Hiccup "Hiccup, I think a storm is coming, Spear doesn't like them, he gets very spooked."
He looks up at the clouds "hmm, it is getting pretty dark, I think you're right."
Rain begins to fall down, low thunder rumbles in the sky. Spear starts to pace anxiously, you try to comfort him as best you could.
"The weather around here is rubbish!" Snotlout remarks, covering his head with his arms. Suddenly a loud thunder erupts followed by a large flash of lightning, the dragons all yell and start to fly away in a panic.

You call for Spear but he was long gone "dammit! Hookfang come back!"
"Stormfly!"
"It's no use." You sigh "they've been spooked. They aren't coming back in a hurry."
Everyone groans, they were getting soaked. You all hurry across the island and Hiccup spots a cave "shelter, everyone hurry!" He points towards it "what if there's a nasty dragon in there!" Snotlout yells stopping in his tracks, you run up behind him pushing him forward "just go!"

The cave was empty, much to Snotlouts relief. And surprisingly Toothless was already sat in there. Hiccup runs over to him hugging him tightly "at least someone has their dragon." Snotlout sighs, you glare at him, Hiccup ignores him "okay, so we need to start a fire to dry off."
Everyone scans around the cave, finding what looked like an abandoned nest, full of twigs, perfect.
Toothless lights the fire and you all sit around it, everyone was silent for a while, you tuck your knees up to your chest and look out of the cave entrance at the now much heavier storm, hoping Spear was okay.
Toothless lay beside Hiccup, curling his tail around the chiefs legs, purring quietly. You envied Hiccup right now, then again everyone probably did.
Hours pass, you were running low on sticks and the storm was still going strong "I think we will be stuck here tonight." Hiccup says, the twins groan in sync "but Barf and Belch!"
"They'll be okay. They probably just went to find shelter." Hiccup says trying to be reassuring.
"Find shelter without us!"
Hiccup rubs his temples in annoyance, Astrid stands up and stretches "we've had this happen before, guys. Don't panic."
"She's right." Fishlegs agrees, the twins look at each other then shrug "I only care about Barf." Ruffnut says, Tuffnut glares at her "excuse you!"
"Guys, please." Hiccup sighs "let's not."
Everyone settles down, but you had no intention of sleeping. The cave was cold and uncomfortable. You waited for a while for everyone to fall asleep and you get up, and walk further back into the cave.
It wasn't anything special, dull and dark, rather disappointing.
"Can't sleep either?" A voice asks, you jump and turn, it was Gregory "caves aren't exactly comfortable." You say, he chuckles "yeah, I know what you mean, my neck is aching at the thought alone." He steps closer but you back away until you were pressed up against the wall "Gregory-"
"Shhhh." He presses his finger to your lips, his blue eyes shining brightly you push his hand away "please stop. I'm not interested. You know this."
He grabs your neck with his hand and pulls a small dagger out with the other "now stay quiet, or I will hurt you." He warns, you gulp. He leans closer, his lips brushing yours "you're such a pretty girl, I want you to be mine." He whispers, your eyes widen. He forces his lips against yours. You freeze in shock, he pulls back and grins "don't you dare tell anyone, got it?" You feel the cold blade brush your wrist and he lets you go "goodnight." He whispers and goes back to the others.
You fall to the floor and weep silently, too scared to move.

By morning the storm had subsided as everyone was eager to find their dragons. Hiccup finds you at the back of the cave, sat staring at the wall, he walks over and rests his hand on your shoulder making you jump and scurry to the side "hey, it's me." He kneels in front of you "you're as white as a sheet, are you okay?" He asks, your eyes dart side to side "I...had a nightmare is all." You croak, he raises an eyebrow not entirely convinced but decides not to push it for now.

"I'll fly up with Toothless to get a sky view." Hiccup says, climbing onto his dragon, he holds his and out and you quickly jump on, wrapping your arms around him tightly, pressing yourself into his back "(y/n)...can't breathe." He wheezes "oh, sorry." You loosen your grip a bit, he chuckles and signals Toothless to fly. You look down and see Gregory watching you with piercing eyes. You quickly turn away and stare blankly at Hiccup's back.

"I can't see them, maybe we should call them?" Hiccup suggests, you don't say anything, last night was replaying in your mind "(y/n)?" He looks over his shoulder, you were still pale, your face frozen in worry. Something was up with you, and it was bothering him. He hated seeing you look so distressed.
He then notices a familiar group of dragons flying over "there they are!" He calls, Toothless calls out to them. Spear speeds over, running his tongue across your face and cooing happily, you hug him then climb off Toothless carefully and onto Spear.
"I have to go home, I'll see you later." You say, before Hiccup could answer Spear flies off leaving Hiccup completely dumbfounded.
You wipe fresh tears from your eyes as you head back to Berk, Gregory threatened and kissed you, you couldn't believe it. You arrive back at your house, luckily your parents weren't home, you run upstairs into your room, lock the door and collapse onto your bed crying, Spear climbs onto the bed as best as he could and wraps himself around you protectively, cooing sadly.
You've decided. Until Gregory was gone. You weren't leaving this room.
