The moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room where Damien and I lay entwined. His steady breathing was a comfort, a reminder of the bond we shared. Yet, despite the warmth of his presence, sleep eluded me.

I slipped out of bed carefully, trying not to disturb Damien . As I made my way down to the kitchen to get a glass of water, the house was eerily quiet. I reached for a glass and filled it, the sound of water filling the silence.

Suddenly, I saw a shadow move out of the corner of my eye. My heart leaped into my throat, and I was about to scream when a hand clamped over my mouth from behind. I froze, paralyzed with shock and fear, my heart racing.

The hand turned me around, and I found myself face-to-face with Marcus standing in my kitchen. I was only in my boxers, feeling exposed and vulnerable. But for some inexplicable reason, once I recognized him, the fear began to dissipate. I felt a strange calm wash over me.

"Good evening, Xavier," Marcus said, his voice smooth and almost soothing. There was something indefinable in his eyes, something that held my attention and kept me from panicking.

"What are you doing here?" I managed to ask, my voice barely a whisper.

"I wanted to see how you were doing," Marcus replied, his eyes scanning my face. "Have you spoken to Damien about our last conversation?"

I hesitated, feeling an odd urge to trust him. "Yes, I talked to him. He told me about his past, about you."

Marcus nodded, his expression serious. "And did he tell you everything?"

"He said he was involved with a dangerous group and that you were part of it," I answered. "He left because he didn't agree with what you were doing."

"That's true," Marcus said, stepping closer. "But it's not the whole truth."

As he spoke, Marcus slowly moved toward me, closing the distance between us until he was only a few centimeters away. My back pressed against the kitchen island, and I couldn't move. His proximity sent shivers down my spine, and I felt goosebumps rise on my skin.

Marcus's eyes roamed over me, taking in every detail. He reached out and gently brushed a few stray hairs away from my face, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through me. I couldn't help but react, my body betraying my emotions.

Marcus noticed the effect he had on me and smirked. "You see, Xavier, there's more to Damien's past than he's telling you. And there's more to our connection than you realize."

"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice shaking.

He leaned in, his breath hot against my ear. "You'll find out soon enough. But for now, keep this encounter between us. Don't tell Damien ."

I felt his breath on my lips, so close that I instinctively closed my eyes. But when I opened them again, Marcus was gone. The kitchen was empty, leaving me alone with my racing thoughts and the lingering sensation of his touch.

I walked back upstairs in a daze, slipping into bed next to Damien . He stirred slightly but didn't wake up. I lay there, wide awake, my mind racing with confusion and fear. Despite the undeniable bond I shared with Damien , Marcus had an inexplicable effect on me that I couldn't understand.

As the first light of dawn began to filter through the curtains, I finally drifted off to sleep, my thoughts a tangled mess of emotions and unanswered questions. The birds started to sing, their melodies blending with the turmoil in my mind.

---

The next morning, I woke up feeling groggy and unsettled. The encounter with Marcus haunted me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong. Damien noticed my unease as we got ready for the day.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

"Yeah," I lied, forcing a smile. "Just didn't sleep well."

He didn't look convinced, but he didn't press further. As we went about our day, the tension between us was palpable. I wanted to tell him about Marcus, but a part of me was afraid of what might happen if I did.

---

At school, the unease followed me like a shadow. I tried to focus on my classes, but my mind kept drifting back to the previous night. Every time I saw Damien , my heart ached with the burden of my secret.

---

That evening, as I lay in bed next to Damian, the weight of my secret felt unbearable. I knew I couldn't keep this from him forever, but the fear of his reaction kept me silent. As I closed my eyes, I resolved to find a way to uncover the truth about Marcus and Damian's past, no matter the cost.

---

One night, as we lay in bed, I turned to Damian, my heart heavy with the weight of my secret. "Damien , there's something I need to tell you."

He looked at me, his eyes filled with concern. "What is it, Xavier?"

I took a deep breath, my resolve firm. "Marcus came to see me. He was in our kitchen a few nights ago."

Damien's expression darkened, a mixture of anger and fear flashing in his eyes. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I was scared," I admitted, my voice trembling. "He said not to tell you. He hinted that there's more to your past, things you haven't told me."

Damien sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I was trying to protect you, Xavier. There's so much you don't know, so much I didn't want to burden you with."

"Damien , I need to know the truth," I said, my voice filled with determination. "No more secrets. We face this together."

He nodded, his eyes softening. "Okay. I'll tell you everything, but not yet. I need you to trust me and be patient."
