Finally, after what felt like an eternity of searching, Marcus and I had found a clue that could lead us to the Prophets. The trail had been long and arduous, but this clue felt like a beacon of hope. We were almost there. We decided to make one last stop at a cozy hotel, one last night before we would hopefully get some real answers.
As we settled into the room, I realized with a start that it had only one king bed. I glanced at Marcus, and by his expression, I could tell he was thinking the same thing. My heart began to race. This would be the first time we would be sleeping in the same bed.
I tried to shake off my nerves as I headed to the shower. The hot water helped to relax my tense muscles, but my mind kept drifting back to the room and to Marcus. When I finished, I realized I had forgotten to bring my clothes into the bathroom with me. I had no choice but to wrap a towel around my waist and step out into the room with just my boxers on.
As I exited the bathroom, I felt Marcus's gaze on me. My skin prickled with awareness, and my breath became irregular. He slowly approached me, murmuring something about getting clothes from his suitcase. His proximity made my heart pound, and I could feel the heat radiating from his body. He was now standing right behind me, so close I could feel his breath on my neck.
Suddenly, he was gone, and I heard the bathroom door slam shut. I let out a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding, my body trembling with a mix of nerves and anticipation.
A short while later, Marcus exited the bathroom. His hair was still wet, falling into his face, and his shirt clung to his skin, still slightly damp from the shower. The sight of him took my breath away.
The tension between us was palpable. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as Marcus walked towards me. There was something in his eyes, a look that made my stomach flutter and my knees weak. I could barely breathe as he closed the distance between us, his gaze never leaving mine.
"Xavier," he murmured, his voice low and husky. "Are you nervous?"
I swallowed hard, my throat dry. "A little," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
He reached out, his fingers gently brushing against my arm. The touch sent a jolt of electricity through me, and I shivered. "You don't have to be," he said softly. "I won't hurt you."
"I know," I replied, my heart pounding even harder. "It's just... this is all so new."
Marcus smiled, a slow, seductive smile that made my pulse quicken. "Then let's take it slow."
He leaned in, his lips brushing against mine in a feather-light kiss. It was gentle and tender, and it made my head spin. I closed my eyes, letting myself get lost in the sensation. His hands moved to my waist, pulling me closer, and I could feel the heat of his body through the fabric of our clothes.
The kiss deepened, becoming more urgent and passionate. My hands found their way to his chest, feeling the hard muscles beneath his shirt. He moaned softly against my lips, the sound sending a thrill through me. His hands roamed over my back, exploring, caressing, driving me wild with desire.
We moved towards the bed, our bodies pressed tightly together. Marcus gently pushed me down onto the mattress, his weight settling on top of me. His lips never left mine, his kisses growing more intense, more demanding. I could feel the heat building between us, a fire that threatened to consume us both.
He pulled back slightly, his eyes dark with desire. "Are you sure about this?" he asked, his voice rough with need.
I nodded, my own desire mirrored in his eyes. "Yes," I breathed. "I want this."
He smiled again, a wicked smile that made my heart race. "Good."
His hands moved to the hem of my shirt, pulling it over my head and tossing it aside. His lips followed the path of his hands, kissing and nipping at my skin, leaving a trail of fire in their wake. I gasped, my back arching off the bed as he explored my body with his mouth and hands.
