The emotions swirling inside me were too overwhelming to contain. After storming out of my room, I felt the need to escape, to run away from everything that was tearing me apart. Without even realizing it, I transformed into my wolf form for the first time in a long time.

The shift was instinctual, driven by the need to flee. My thoughts became more primal, focused only on running, on escaping the pain and confusion. I ran through the forest, my wolf senses heightening every sound, every scent. The world around me blurred as I pushed myself faster and faster.

I didn't know where I was going until I reached the lake where Damien and I had shared so many intimate moments. The memories flooded back, bringing with them a fresh wave of pain. I slowed to a stop, my breath coming in heavy pants as I stared at the still waters.

Slowly, I transformed back into my human form, the cold night air biting at my skin. The realization that I was now naked hit me hard; my clothes had been shredded during the transformation. I sat by the lake, silently crying until I finally calmed down.

"Cursed this," I muttered, looking at the torn remnants of my clothes. I felt exposed and vulnerable, both physically and emotionally.

A sudden noise behind me made me freeze. I turned to see Marcus stepping out from the shadows, his eyes twinkling with amusement and something darker. His gaze roamed over my body, and he licked his lips, smirking.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" he said, his voice smooth and mocking.

I tried to cover myself with my hands, my heart pounding with a mix of fear and anger. "Stay away from me," I demanded, my voice trembling.

"Don't worry," Marcus replied, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "I won't do anything to you... yet. It's not the time."

His words sent a shiver down my spine. Marcus was undeniably attractive, but his presence filled me with dread. Even so, I couldn't help but compare him to Damien , and in my mind, Damien was still the one I wanted, the one who truly mattered.

"What do you want?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Have you thought about our conversation?" Marcus asked, stepping closer. "About what I told you?"

I hesitated, my mind racing. "Yes," I finally admitted.

"Do you want to know more?" he asked, his eyes gleaming with interest.

"Yes," I said, my voice trembling.

Marcus smirked, reaching into his coat and pulling out a jacket. He handed it to me, his eyes never leaving mine. "Put this on. I can't have you catching a cold, now can I?"

I took the jacket, wrapping it around myself. The warmth was a small comfort, but it did little to ease my anxiety. "Where are we going?" I asked, my voice unsteady.

"Follow me," Marcus said, turning and starting to walk away.

I hesitated, my mind filled with doubts. "How do I know you're not going to hurt me?"

Marcus stopped and looked back at me, his expression serious. "If I wanted to hurt you, I would have done it already. Trust me, Xavier. I just want to talk."

Against my better judgment, I decided to follow him. My curiosity and the need for answers overpowered my fear. As we walked through the forest, the silence between us was heavy, filled with unspoken questions and tension.

We reached a secluded area, a small clearing surrounded by tall trees. Marcus stopped and turned to face me, his expression unreadable.

"Tell me, Xavier," he began, his voice low. "What do you really know about Damien ?"

"I know enough," I replied, my voice defensive. "I trust him."

"Do you?" Marcus asked, his eyes narrowing. "Or are you just blinded by your bond?"

His words hit me hard, and I felt a flicker of doubt. "What are you getting at?"

"Damien isn't telling you everything," Marcus said, stepping closer. "There are things about him, about his past, that you don't know. Things that could change everything."

"Like what?" I demanded, my anger rising. "What are you talking about?"

Marcus smirked, his eyes glinting with something dark. "There are secrets, Xavier. Secrets that could tear your world apart. And Damien is hiding them from you."

I felt my heart pound in my chest, the fear and uncertainty clawing at me. "Why should I believe you?"

"Because I have no reason to lie," Marcus said, his voice calm. "I want you to know the truth, to see Damien for who he really is."

The doubt and fear were overwhelming, and I didn't know what to think. "What do you want from me?" I asked, my voice shaking.

"I want you to be careful," Marcus said, his tone serious. "And I want you to find out the truth for yourself. Ask Damien the right questions, and you'll see."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me alone in the clearing. My mind was a whirlwind of emotions, the doubt and fear warring with my trust in Damien .

As I made my way back to my pack's territory, I couldn't shake the feeling that everything was about to change.

That night, as I lay in bed, the weight of Marcus's words pressed down on me. I didn't know what to believe, but I knew I couldn't ignore the warning. The road ahead was filled with uncertainty, and I would need all my strength to navigate it.
