After about fifteen seconds of his sobbing, he pulls himself together and pulls his phone out of his pocket. He puts it to his ear and declares "It's done. We're going to need a change of clothes. Bring over my file."
He hangs up and speaks up "You can come out, now, Thor."
As soon as I step out, I start apologizing "I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't have gotten in the way, I just-"
He pulls me towards him and hugs my waist. He buries his face in my chest and I stand there for a moment, only to start brushing his hair back. He sobs against me "I'm free! I'm finally fucking free!"
He grips onto me so hard, I feel like he thinks he'll lose me. I ask "You're free?"
He gives a sniffing "Uh-huh."
I squeeze him to me as I start to piece everything together "You gave me bourbon, everyday, because it's the antidote to your anthrax?"
He sighs "It was the only way I could sneak it in."
I nod, before asking "What about the device in your neck?"
Before he can answer, there's a knock on the door. He steps over to answer it, allowing in Natasha and Fury, along with six other people, with a dirty linen cart and the UV sterilizer. They put the UV machine into the bathroom and turn it on.
Natasha hands me a file, about as thick as a phone book, as Loki asks "Where's Mobius and Bee?"
Natasha sighs "Bee ran back to grab Thor a change of clothes. Mobius is taking down the command center, across the street."
I furrow my brow and ask "So everyone knew?"
Natasha sighs "Love the fact that the hippie was okay with killing four billion people."
Loki steps over to the side table of the couch and pulls a wire from inside the lamp "The place is wired." He pulls out his earpiece and hands it to Natasha "Won't be needing that, anymore."
I furrow my brow and sigh "I really didn't belong here, then."
Loki nods, before crossing his arms "No, you didn't."
He looks down at the bodies on the floor and I ask "So, the inhaler I picked up in your lab...?"
He sighs "It didn't have anthrax in it at the time. I wouldn't leave it out if it did. I just knew I was going to use it as a dispersal device."
He steps over to the briefcase and states "Because inhalers are usually non threatening, I figured they wouldn't second guess it."
I motion toward the briefcase as the clean up crew starts packing away the bodies "And the ziplock bag?"
He smirks as he turns towards me "Fury was kind enough to bring me The Chemist's formula. I wasn't going to actually hand over that much anthrax."
I nod, in a perpetual state of confusion, only to ask "So everything was planned?"
He nods, before declaring "The only thing that wasn't, was you." He step towards me with his gun behind his back "Why are you awake, anyway? How did you know to come here?"
I take a deep breath and look down "On Sunday night, when I went to the pharmacy for saline, I made a deal with a crooked pharmacist." He narrows his gaze at me and I sigh "I bought adderall from him. I've been awake for the past four days."
He takes a deep breath and holds his gun out, by the barrel, offering it to Natasha. Once she takes it, he takes a step forward and, before I know it, he smacks the shit out of me.
As I grip my face, he takes a deep breath and sighs "So help me, Thor! If you ever do anything like that again-"
I hold up my hand to silence him "Only did it to make sure you didn't get yourself killed." I feel my red hot cheek and remark "I was wrong."
