I walk through waterfall and the crystals shine, greens, purples and pinks spread throughout the cavern. Yeah I probably could take a short cut by travelling underground because you know... me being a flower and all but... I like it here. Out of all the places in the Underground this is one of my favourites, it's probably the one I'm least bored of after being down here alone for just over four years: Ruins has annoying puzzles, Snowdin is too cold (wow shocker, SNOWdin is cold?!); Hotland is too hot (wow another shocker, HOTland is hot?!) and there are other areas that have their own faults. To be fair, New home is actually pretty good, there's a lotta stuff to do, being basically the Underground's equivalent of a city and all.

But there's a beauty about Waterfall that always leads me back, so I spend a lot of time here. But right now I'm just passing through because Frisk has texted and I have to go through here to get to Hotland. Because the lab, using the Cores power, is the only place that has the signal for communication with the surface. Eventually I get to the lab, the heat already getting pretty annoying, even with the extra air conditioning Frisk sorted for me (after I moaned enough about it).

I perch myself on the spiny lab chair and open up the messaging application. Fun fact, when you live alone in an empty underground there isn't really much point of signing out it's not like there's anyone to snoop... so no remembering passwords. Yay. I guess.

Ugh it always takes ages to load, I mean it is pretty impressive that i can even communicate with the surface at all but still... ugh this is soooo boring.

I grip the table edge with my vine and push, the chair spins. Spiny chairs are fun.

Pretty much all the chairs down here are spiny chairs now. When monsters came to the surface, there was this peace treaty thing. Asgore still kept some of his power in making decisions and stuff. It's like a joint monster-human government kind of thing.

Which...more importantly meant that Asgore was able to do me a favour. With his power he somehow managed to get a bank card with huge online shopping discounts on everything. So...he gave it to me and puts money on it each month (which goes pretty far with the discounting) and basically said "Knock yourself out".

I mean that was pretty nice of them all, they felt bad and thought I would get bored so I can buy books, games, and other stuff to keep it at bay. So yeah... the whole spiny chair obsession began 2 years ago and from then on the Underground was overran with spinny chairs among other stupid stuff.

I spin myself again and laugh slightly.

Frisk: hey Flowey how are you?

I check the last message... it'd been 2 weeks since they'd last messaged before this... it's been that long? ...I shake my head slightly to stop myself from worrying about it.

What did that message say again? ...oh yeah. They are asking about me. I'm doing great I mean I'm only a soulless flower trapped down here alone, why wouldn't I be?

Ugh they're just trying to be nice...
