I grip the scarf tighter with my quivering vine. I...I can't...

I take in short gasps of air.

"F-Flowey!" 
If I had a soul it would've probably flipped, a wide grin crosses my face as I run to the edge. I relax my grip on the scarf. 
They're alive! They're alive! Thank annoying dog! 
"I'm here! You're ok! I thought you..." I pause and quickly shake my head "...doesn't matter, don't worry I'll help ya out of there...I...where exactly are ya down there?" 
I peer down into the pit. I can't see anything down there, it's way too dark...
"A ledge...I'm holding onto a ledge..." their voice sounds so tired.
Oh annoying dog...
"Ok ok... just hang tight alright?" 
"Yeah...yeah i did plan on doing that..." they reply sarcastically, obviously trying to mask the growing fear in their voice. I would know.
I rummage through Jynx's bag and manage to find a torch and I shine it into the pit. Then I see Jynx, gripping the ledge... shaking...
I quickly extend a vine but... they're not long enough. 
That's fine. That's fine. 
...This is fine.
I look around and find a sturdy looking rock nearby and grip onto it tightly with my other vine. Before I have second thoughts I lean into the pit, and this time my vine reaches... just about.
"Okay Jynx, see that vine?" 
"M-Mmmhm..." they sound so scared. Poor kid.
"Good now...I'm gonna need you to grab onto it," 
"O-okay..." 
Jynx looks at the vine and goes to reach out for it but quickly regrips the wall, taking deep breaths. 
"S-sorry," they mutter
"Hey hey...don't apologise I... I used to hate heights too," I reassure them, the words come out before I realise what I'm saying. 
That probably revealed too much. 
No. That isn't important right now.
They try to grab again and eventually grips my vine tightly. Their nails dig in slightly but I couldn't care less, flowers have weak nerves anyway. 
"Great! That was great!" 
At this point their eyes are squeezed tightly shut. 
"I know...I know just hold on ok?"
