=)

I rub my eyes to see if I'm hallucinating because if I am....I really wouldn't be surprised.

Nope.

I'm not

Ugh...

I look up and see the lift hanging vertically from one of the cords. For context it's meant to be hung horizontally by three... so yeah it's broken... great

...along with my video game. I mean I'd guess so anyway, cartridges are definitely not made to fall that many feet... or any feet for that matter.

RIP Super Smash Bros Ultimate (I jokingly bow my cowboy hat in mock respect)

But that is definitely not the top priority right now.

I walk towards the golden flowers which I am really...really happy I'd kept there now. Because, if you hadn't realised by now, the lift was a way to repurpose the hole each of the 7 humans fell through to end up down here. Each time the flowers were the thing that'd cushioned their fall. I'd decided to keep them there and...well... as i said good choice.

Because... now there is a human in front of me lying on top of some of the (now flattened) flowers. They look about Frisk's age and have short magenta hair.

I walk a little closer, trying to not...y'know... freak them out.

I have that effect on people. For some reason.

"Hey kid, you ok?" I ask quietly, trying to sound concerned, because even though I'm kind of worried my numbness doesn't really allow for much more.

They don't reply.

I use my vine to nudge them slightly.
"Hey," I say slightly louder.

I check their pulse, which is fine, before nudging them a bit harder.

Their eyes flicker for a moment and they slowly lean up.

"Hey! You're awake" I say in my chirpy voice, still trying to keep it decently quiet.

"Ugh..."

"So kid... im Flowey, Flowey the flower!" I say, it's pretty much a reflex at this point, I bow my cowboy hat again but this time as a genuine greeting.

They slowly glance up and as their eyes focus...they stare at me with terror in their eyes, and I realised that kind of greeting was probably a...terrible idea. Word about me has... gotten around... and just announcing myself...

I did not think that through...

Like at all

"Please don't k-" their voice quivers but I cut them off.

"Kid. relax. I'm not like that anymore," I say in a firm yet reassuring tone. As i said, I can't really feel emotions but I've got pretty good at making it look like I can, even if, as Sans has told me, it isn't healthy.

"H-how d-do I know y-you're not lying...y-you f-fake b-being nice and t-then...y-you..." their words die in their throat.

Ok yeah. Fair point. I guess I don't have the best track record.

They push themselves backwards, despite looking very obviously weak and in pain.

"Kid...look. Do you reeeealy think, if I actually wanted your soul, I would have even bothered to wake you up before I took it?" My voice comes out a bit more blunt than intended but it gets the point across.
