...2 hours later

"Sooooo...this is the lab!" I gesture towards the lab...kind of like a showman.

We both walk inside, Jynx trailing behind. They look around, seeing immediately fascinated by everything. This isn't really my cup of tea but...whatever floats their boat I guess.

"This looks pretty cool," Jynx grins as their eyes scan the area.

I place a vine in front of them and they look at me with a confused expression.

"Okay kid we're gonna need some rules..."

They burst out laughing but then see my serious expression and stop. Their smile falters slightly.

"Wait...you're kidding... right?" Their voices pitch noticeably rises on the "right" part as they look at the vine in mild frustration.

"Look I know it's really boooring..." I begin, I sound like Toriel right now... wait...if you think about it I basically am Toriel at this point, helping humans, taking them in...woah...

"...You're actually being serious?"

"I did promise I'd keep you safe didn't I?"

"Fine...what rules?" They say with a sigh.

"Okay so..." I pause, thinking for a moment. "No touching anything that looks... well...dangerous..."

"yeah no kidding,"

I glare at them, but in a jokey way with no real malice behind it.

"And...no going into any private doors or you know rooms labelled with biohazard or something,"

I don't really fancy infecting them with an extinct underground disease or something. Can monster diseases even infect humans? Huh...I've never really actually thought about that before...i mean I guess not?

"Flowey I'm 13 not...5 I have basic common sense,"

That's rich. I laugh slightly.

"Says the person who managed to fall down two holes in the space of two days,"

Jynx's smirk suddenly falls. I almost fall for it.

Not.

"You really think I'm gonna fall for that?" I smirk.

Their acting was actually decent for a moment but there's no way I'm admitting that. And I'm also putting that down to my lack of empathy, it's pretty easy to be a good actor when your audience can't read surface level emotions that well, never mind actual intentions.

"Ugh you're no fun," their expression turns into a slight grimace.

"You say that to the flower who's letting you explore a science lab... besides we both know I'm right," I give them a smug look, that's usually accompanied with crossed arms but... Flower.
