April 6, 2017

Jack was in the recording studio with Brooklyn. It was early in the morning, and the atmosphere was filled with the calm energy that characterizes recording sessions before the day really gets going. Jack and Brooklyn had a habit of recording casual videos with their phones during these moments, not to share with anyone in particular, but simply to capture spontaneous snippets of daily life in the studio.

Jack began speaking in his usual relaxed tone, explaining that he had been woken up early by Brooklyn's call. "Good morning. It's pretty early here in the studio. Brooklyn called me this morning with the news that she has new material to share. Not that I'm surprised, she's always full of surprises." he commented, as the camera captured the surroundings of the studio.

As he spoke, the sound of barking could be heard in the background. Jack turned toward the source of the sound and focused the camera on Blue who was playing with his favorite toy in a corner of the room. "And here's Blue, the real boss of the studio." Jack said, laughing as the dog wagged his tail vigorously.

"Now, if you're wondering where Brooklyn is… Well, she's in her favorite corner of the studio." the camera panned to show Brooklyn sitting in a corner, deeply focused on her laptop. She was clearly on a video call, her face illuminated by the light from the screen as she chatted animatedly with someone on the other end. "She's talking with her girl." Jack panned the camera a little more to show the scene: Brooklyn, with a big smile, was talking to Alex, who appeared on the computer screen.

With a knowing smile, Jack approached Brooklyn. "Hey, Brooke, show the camera your ring."

Brooklyn, realizing what Jack was suggesting, laughed and raised her hand to show the ring on her finger. It was a dazzling jewel that sparkled in a soft light. As she did so, she couldn't help but smile with pride and excitement.

After Jack finished recording the video, Brooklyn turned back to the video call and smiled at Alex on the screen. "Well, babe, it's time for me to let you get ready for your game." Brooklyn said in a loving tone.

Alex, who was in her hotel, responded with a smile, "Thanks, Brooke. You know I always play better when I know you're with me, even from a distance."

Brooklyn nodded, feeling a mix of pride and love for Alex. "I wish you all the luck in the game against Russia. I know you'll do amazing and I'll be watching and cheering you on from here."

Alex smiled, touching the screen as if she wanted to touch Brooklyns hand. "Thanks, baby. I love you."

"I love you too, Al. See you soon. And remember, do your best and have fun." Brooklyn said, blowing her a kiss through the screen.

Alex returned the gesture before saying goodbye. "See you later, love. Take care."

Brooklyn hung up the video call with Alex and stared at the screen for a few more moments, feeling a warm mix of love and nostalgia. It had been a quick conversation, and now she felt energized. She closed her laptop and walked over to Jack, who was watching her with an understanding smile from where he sat in the recording studio.

"I want you to listen to a song I've been working on." Brooklyn said, as she took a seat next to him.

"I'm all ears." he replied, interested. He was always eager to hear Brooklyn's new ideas. Her creativity and passion were endless, and each new project promised to be something special.

"It's called Queen Of My Heart." Brooklyn continued, her eyes shining with excitement.

Jack raised an eyebrow, surprised and curious at the same time. "Are we going to use female pronouns on this album?" he asked. He remembered that on their previous album, they had decided to use male pronouns to refer to Alex, in an effort to maintain a certain level of privacy amidst her growing fame.

Brooklyn smiled, fully understanding Jack's surprise. "Everyone knows about our relationship now. There's no need to hide who the song is addressed to."

Brooklyn, noticing Jack's thoughtful look, decided to remind him of something important as they fine-tuned the final details of Queen Of My Heart.

"Jack, this isn't the first time I've written a song with female pronouns." Brooklyn said with a smile.

Jack, looking through some papers on his desk, looked up. "Yeah, sure, but actually, Slut! didn't make it onto the album. It was a song we decided to leave out, and on You Are In Love, we had to change the pronouns to fit the album's narrative."

Brooklyn nodded, understanding Jack's point. Slut! It had been a personal song that didn't fit into the structure of the final album, and You Are In Love had undergone modifications to stay consistent with the public image they were building at the time.

"I know." Brooklyn said. "But what I mean is that I've always written from my truth, even if I've had to adjust things sometimes to fit a specific context. Now, I want Queen Of My Heart to be authentic and unfiltered."

Jack smiled, acknowledging Brooklyn's determination. "I understand what you're saying. Authenticity is always the key. And this time, I think it's the right time to be completely open about your feelings and your relationship."

Brooklyn felt relieved and supported to hear that. She knew that by being more transparent in her music, she was not only paying tribute to Alex, but also reaffirming her commitment to personal truth in her art.

"Exactly. And I feel like this song, by being so direct, can resonate deeply with those who hear it. It's not just about Alex and me, but about the freedom to be yourself and to love without reservation."

Jack nodded in approval, ready to move on with the production process. "I'm sure Queen Of My Heart will be a powerful and meaningful piece. We're going to give the song the space it deserves on the album."

Recording continued, and Brooklyn gave herself over completely to creating a work that not only celebrated her love, but also represented a step towards greater honesty in her music. Every note and every word reflected the authenticity Brooklyn was willing to share with the world.
