A special day for Alex, and even though it was her birthday, she had no idea what Brooklyn had been preparing for the past few weeks. Brooklyn, always attentive and detail-oriented, knew that Alex was a relaxed person who valued small gestures and moments shared with her loved ones. That's why she decided to organize a surprise party at her mansion in Rhode Island, surrounded by the most important people for Alex: her family, her teammates, and some close friends.
The morning had been quiet. Brooklyn had behaved in an intentionally carefree manner, implying that perhaps they would spend the day discreetly, like any other. Alex had gone to train and then to run some errands without suspecting anything, while Brooklyn supervised every detail of the party in secret. The mansion had filled with life. Alex's family arrived early from California, her teammates from the national team and the Orlando Pride also began to arrive little by little, each one excited to surprise the soccer star.
The mansion's backyard, with a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean, had been decorated with warm lights, pastel-hued balloons, and understated yet elegant flower arrangements, just the way Alex liked it. In one corner was a huge sign that read, "Happy Birthday, Alex!" The background music created a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for the occasion. A private chef was preparing Alex's favorite dishes, including tacos and homemade pizza, while a large table was set with a personalized cake featuring Alex holding up a trophy, a nod to her soccer successes.
Meanwhile, Alex parked her car outside the mansion, completely oblivious to the surprise that awaited her. She was a little tired after her workout, and all she was looking forward to was a quiet afternoon with Brooklyn. As she got out of the car, she texted Brooklyn that she was arriving, and as she walked to the entrance, she thought about how grateful she was to have someone like Brooklyn in her life, someone who supported her unconditionally and always found ways to make her feel special.
Opening the front door, the inside of the house was eerily quiet, which wasn't all that unusual for their relationship. Brooklyn was known for her surprises, but Alex still had no clue as to what was to come. She walked down the hallway, looking for Brooklyn, and just as she approached the deck overlooking the garden, the lights suddenly flicked on, and a chorus of familiar voices shouted in unison, "Surprise!"
Alex stood still for a moment, her eyes widening in disbelief. In front of her were her parents, her sisters, her teammates, and in the center of it all, with a huge smile and eyes full of excitement, was Brooklyn. Laughter and applause filled the air, as Alex brought her hands to her face, completely shocked by the scene before her.
"Happy birthday, baby!" Brooklyn exclaimed, approaching Alex with a huge smile.
Alex, still in shock, hugged Brooklyn tightly, unable to hold back her tears of happiness. "How did you do all this? I can't believe it." Alex whispered as she looked around, excited to see so many important people for her gathered in one place.
Brooklyn, with a knowing smile.
"I had help from some very special people. I knew that today you deserved to celebrate surrounded by those who love you the most. I wanted you to know how proud I am of you and how happy it makes me to be by your side at times like this."The party atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful. Alex dedicated herself to greeting her family, hugging her teammates, and enjoying every little detail that Brooklyn had organized with such love. Lively conversations filled the garden, as Alex and her teammates recalled anecdotes from training, games, and trips with the national team. The family's children were playing in the pool, and Brooklyn, who was making sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time, couldn't stop smiling at how happy Alex was.
