Sent to the world of Dragon Age Inquisition (Cullen x reader)

Chapter 18

READER'S POV

The Elder One has made his move. He has ordered an attack on haven just to get to me. I know what he's after and its the mark. To make sure everyone including my brother escape, I stayed behind and got his and the Venatori's attention. I fought my way through the burning village to get to the last trebuchet. I stabbed a venatori in the back to catch him off guard. I glared at the remaining soldiers who glared at me while guarding the last trebuchet.

"For the Elder one!!" One of them shouted before charging at me.

I dodged their swords and spells they threw at me but, I am one woman so, taking these guys down by myself is a lot harder than it looks. I tripped one of the soliders up and stabbed his chest before I saw more leaping over the walls. I reached into my pouch and tossed a fire grenade at them. As soon as it landed in front of them, the explosion sent them flying. Once things were calm for the moment, I turned the wheel a few times to align the trebuchet. I was close to aligning it when all of a sudden, an ice blade appeared out of nowhere. I ducked on time and turned to see who attacked me and its Fiona.

"Fiona..." I mumbled.

"Forgive me Herald. But I must do what I can to save my people. Even if that means working with the Venatori," Fiona spoke as I stood at the ready with my daggers in my hand.

"Oh yeah? well, I must do what I can to protect the civilians of Haven. Including my brother," I spoke with a frown as we stood at a fighting stance.

Fiona held her staff at the ready before two of the Venatori soldiers charged at me. I blocked and attacked them as best as I could but, I starting to feel exhausted from the fighting. I even dodged Fiona's ice attacks. I double stabbed the soldiers before I pulled out my blades. Suddenly, Fiona summoned several ice blades and they flew towards me. I didn't have time to dodge so I crossed my arms to shield my face. I felt every blade of ice scratch my arms, legs and I even felt one of them destroy the hair tie that held my ponytail in place. Just then, I felt something strike my side and when the stormed died down, I looked to see a large shard of ice poking out of my side.

My eyes widen when I realised that I had been stabbed. I felt my legs gave out and then I clutched my side before pulling out the shard of ice. I gritted my teeth in pain before Fiona approached me. I looked up at her and she gave me that sympathy look.

"Forgive me Herald. But, this is where your fight ends," Fiona spoke as she held her staff at the ready.

"Yeah...it is over..." I mumbled before I grabbed my dagger and then I stabbed Fiona in the chest. Fiona looked at me with a shocked expression while I glared at her.

"For you that is," I told her before her body went limp. I carefully placed her onto the ground and I released my dagger.

"I'm sorry...I tried to change the outcome so this didn't have to happen...I hope you and your people find peace, Grand Enchanter Fiona," I spoke before I slowly got back onto my feet while clutching my injury. 

I grabbed a hold of the wheel before giving it a few more turns until it was aligned at the mountains. Suddenly, I heard that dragon roaring again and then I made a run for it as it used it's breath attack. I got out of the on time but, an explosion happened right after its' breath attack landed on some explosives that were used for the trebuchet and I was sent flying. I landed onto the ground and groaned in pain. I think I just made my injury worse after that impact.

I slowly sat up and saw something emerge from the flames. I didn't need to know who this guy is, its Corypheus. He's even uglier in person compared to the video game. I glared at him while clutching my side before I heard something land behind me. I turned around to see the dragon had landed and it stalked towards me. I backed off slowly before it roared loudly at the night sky.
