READER'S POV

I changed into my armour and grabbed my twin blades before I got Blaze ready. I'm bringing Blackwall, Dorian and Varric along with me. I adjusted the stirrups on Blaze's saddle before Cullen came over and said, "Got everything you need, Inquisitor?"

"I do, thank you. Do you mind...?" I asked Cullen before he nodded his head and then he crouched down to give me a boost by placing my foot in his hands and then he helped me onto Blaze's back.

"Make sure you three look after her."

"Not worry, Commander. She's in safe hands," Dorian smirked before he walked on ahead of us.

"I'll see you later, Cullen," I told him before I gave Blaze's side a squeeze and then he walked on.

As we crossed the bridge, I heard Dorian teasing me, "I'll see you later, Cullen~"

"Shut up! its not what you think!" I scolded him with a hint of blush on my cheeks.

"Really? says the kid who changed their hairstyle to get Curly's attention," Varric smirked.

I blushed a dark shade of red and shouted, "Shut up! I'm not listening to you!"

Blaze trotted ahead of the group so I didn't have to listen to their teasing. We travelled along the rode for a while before the weather changed drastically. One moment it was sunny and as soon as we got closer to Crestwood, it started raining along with thunder. I wished I had brought a cloak now.

Another loud thunder happened and then Blaze neighed and reared a little. I stroked his neck and said, "Shh, easy boy. Its just thunder."

Blaze snorted before we finally reached the camp where we saw Scout Harding overlooking the lake. I dismounted Blaze and then one of the scouts held onto his reins while I spoke to her.

"Good to see you safe, Inquisitor. We've got trouble ahead."

"I'm sure its nothing the Inquisition can't handle," I smiled confidentially.

"Careful, your worship. That optimism might be catching.

"Are things that bad?" I asked before we overlooked at the lake to see a shining green light in the distance and that told me that there's a rift there. I had completely forgot about this mission.

Aside from meeting Hawke's contact, depending on the choices from the previous two games you'll meet either Alister, Stroud or Loghain, you'll also need to help the people of Crestwood as well. There's undead emerging from the lake from where old Crestwood used to be and I already know who's responsible for this mess as well.

"Oh..."

"Crestwood was the site of a flood ten years ago during the Blight. Its not the only rift in the area, but after it appeared, corpses started walking out of the lake. You'll have to fight through them to get to the cave where Ser Hawke's Grey Warden friend is hiding."

"Have any undead attacked the camp?" I asked with a concerned expression.

"We've had a few shamblers, but most head towards the village below. Maybe someone in Crestwood can tell you how to get to the rift in the lake. Maker knows they'll want help. Good luck, and please be safe out there," Harding told me and I nodded my head before we started to make our way to the village while fighting off some of the undead along the way.

We walked along the path for a bit before I looked at the lake's horizon and said, "There must be a way to get to the rift in the lake."

"You mean, aside from wearing your armour and wading in?" Dorian asked.
