READER'S POV
After speaking to Morrigan and checking up on my brother, I grabbed Dorian, Cassandra and Sera and then we headed into the servants' quaters to find out what exactly is going on over there and if there are any venatori agents there. We peaked around the corner after we grabbed our weapons from Leliana's spies. I looked around and said, "All clear."
We entered the kitchen to see a dead body on the ground and it looks like one of Briala's people. I examined the body and said, "Must be the elves Briala's people are looking for."
"Whoever did this oughta be down here somewhere," Sera spoke up.
"I agree, keep your guards up," I told them before we looked around some more.
We searched in the kitchens and we didn't see anything our of the ordinary aside from finding some Hella statuettes. Same can be said for the gardens until we found a dead body and this guy isn't an elf or a servant. I approached the body and crouched beside it and said, "This was no servant. What was he doing here?"
"This man was a council of Heralds Emissary. What was he doing here?" Cassandra asked outloud before Dorian looked at the dagger that was used to kill him.
"Is that the Chalons family crest? What have you been up to, Gaspard?" Dorian spoke up.
"Nothing good from the looks of things. I think its time to have a word with the Duke," I spoke and stood up before we heard screaming.
We watched as a servant elf was running from a group of assassins and then one of them killed her from behind. I watched as one of them used a smokebomb and then he reappeared on the balcony above us.
"Crap! Venatori agents!" I shouted before we drew our weapons and then we charged at the enemies.
I threw a smokebomb onto the ground and that confused the enemy before I sneaked behind one of the Venatori assassins and stabbed him in the back. Sera used her arrows on a lot of them, Cassandra and I worked together to take down the assassin's while Dorian burnt some of them to ashes, literally. Once this group was dealt with, I looked around and the coast is clear once more.
"The Venatori were watching this approach. They're organized," I spoke before we searched around the gardens while keeping an eye out for more venatori.
We did came across a lot of them but we managed to take them down one by one as we searched around the grand apartments. We entered the palace safe and found an elven locket. I knew who this belonged to and it was a gift for Celene.
"What's an elven locket doing here?" Dorian asked.
"My guess is it belongs to Celene. Its probably a gift from her elven lover. Looks like the rumours Leliliana told me about are true," I told him before I placed the locket into my pouch and continued to search for the Harlequin.
We found him in the hallways along with his buddies and then we fought against them. I stabbed the last one in the neck before I spotted one of them making run for it. However, he didn't get very far when he was stabbed in the neck by someone. I turned around and saw Brilia approaching us.
"Fancy meeting you here. Shouldn't you be dancing, Inquisitor? what will the nobility say?"
"No doubt there's a line of people breathlessly waiting for dances with me."
"I wouldn't be surprised if there was."
"You cleaned this place out. It will take a month to get all the Tervinter blood off the marble. I came down here to save or avenge my missing people, but you've beaten me to it," Briala spoke as we walked onto the balcony that overlooks the gardens below.
