READER'S POV

Dylan and I arrived in Skyhold's gardens to see how Morrigan is settling in but we didn't see her for a moment before I heard someone say to me, "You're the Inquisitor."

I turned around and saw a young boy and I knew who he is. He's Kieran, Morrigan and maybe Loghain's son. He looked at me up and down and said, "I thought you'd be scarier. Mother said you were scary."

'Very funny, Morrigan,' I thought to myself with a small frown before I spoke up.

"Some people seem to think I'm the most frightening thing in the world."

"Those people haven't met you, have they?"

"You're not wrong there. Big sis' temper is not something you want to mess with," Dylan told Kieran which made me giggle.

Kieran looked at Dylan with a curious look. I guess he hasn't met or played with someone who is around Dylan's age especially since he's smaller than him.

"Kieran, are you bother the Inquisitor?"

"I was just saying hello, mother."

"And now, you are returning to your studies, little man," Morrigan told him which made Kieran sigh and then Morrigan gestured him to leave.

"My son. Never where you expect him to be, naturally."

"Huh...you never mention that you have a son," I spoke with a surprised look.

"Why would you? I take great pains to not let my own reputation affect him in any way. To most in the Imperial Court, he is simply a quiet and well-spoken lad. Perhaps the heir of some distant family. But he goes where I go. Worry not, Inquisitor. Kieran is a curious boy, but seldom troublesome."

"Hehe, sounds like someone I know," I chuckled as I ruffled Dylan's hair while he hid behind my legs.

"Hey! what's that supposed to mean?!" Dylan complained.

"You know perfectly well what means, little monkey," I smirked.

Morrgian giggled and then she crouched down to Dylan's height with a smile.

"And who is this darling boy?"

"Morrigan, this my little brother Dylan. Dylan, this Morrigan. She's the Imperial court's advisor and she's the liaison who will be helping us for a while."

"N-Nice to meet you," Dylan spoke shyly.

"And you as well, young man."

"Where's Kieran's father? shouldn't he be here too?" Dylan asked.

"I'm afraid not."

"Why? big sis, aren't all families supposed to have a mummy and daddy?" Dylan asked me.

"Well, not all of them sadly Dylan. True some families have both parents raising their kids but sometimes, not all children are lucky to have them both. Some only have the one parent raising them and others have another family member raise them like grandparents or uncles or aunties. As for the reason why this has happened to them, it could a number of things. It could be because something has happened to one of the parents or they fell out of love and one of the parents wins custody and doesn't allow the other party member to see their son or daughter. But in some harsh realities, one of them does a runner and is never seen again," I explained to Dylan.

"That last part sounds bad big sis," Dylan commented.

"Hey, we live in a harsh world, Dylan. Sometimes the world isn't fair to any of us," I told him and Morrigan looked impressed when I explained it to him.
