READER'S POV

The next day, I couldn't stop thinking about the chess game that I had with Cullen. Spending time with him felt nice and he has made my heart skip a beat even after I said we should spend more time together. I think he liked that idea too but, I have to keep reminding myself that I shouldn't fall for him since there's a chance that I'll be heading home after Corypheus' defeat. Aside from that, life as the Inquisitior has been going well. I've made quite a lot of judgements on some of the people we've encountered during my travels including the mayor and preparations to prevent Empress Celene's assassination are underway as well. That's the next step as well. I know we're supposed to be dealing with the Grey Wardens but, the assassination on the Empress has to be dealt with first.

I will, however, make preparations to go to the Western Approach as Loghain suggested. We need to find out what the Grey Wardens are doing but, I already know what they're doing but, I can tell anyone what I know for obvious reasons so I'll just have to go along with the storyline. Speaking of which, I spoke to Lelianna a few weeks ago about Calpernia and she suspects that the Venatori are after something while searching in the elven ruins. We don't know what it is yet but I do.

If you played the mission 'Under her Skin' its about learning more about Calpernia and what she and her master are after. I met up with her contact in Val Royeax only to find that Calpernia had already gotten to him. Long story short, we found a crystal that can contain memories, Dagna, our arcanist, worked her magic and split the crystal in half and we used the other half to plant it inside Calpernia's belongings. We listened in and found out that there's a shrine in Dumat. I went over there and found Calpernia's old master where he intends to seal Calpernia inside the barrier he created once she becomes the vessel. A vessel with no free will so to speak.

After we discovered this, Leiliana and I agreed that we would use this information for Calpernia when the time comes that we confront her. Right now, we've got the Grey Wardens and the assassination on Empress Celene's life to worry about.

"According to the reports, my scouts have spotted the Grey Wardens gathering here in the Western Approach as Warden Loghain told us," Leilianna spoke as she pointed at the map on the Western Approach.

"Any ideas what they're up to?" I asked her.

"Not yet but, Hawke and Loghain will meet you there but be warned Inquisitor, there's a dragon that has been spotted in that area."

"Understood. And what's the situation with Empress Celene? have we found a way to get close to her yet?" I asked the other advisors.

"I've sent an inquiry to Duke Gaspard. If we have enough influence, he might be willing to invite the Inquisition to the masquerade party."

"Has he responded yet?"

"Not yet but, as soon as I hear word from him, I'll let you know."

"Good work. Any word on what's happening with the Venatori and why they've been searching in elven ruins?"

"We still don't have a clue why they're looking into elven ruins but, we'll make sure to keep our eye on them, Inquisitor," Cullen told me with a determined look and that made my heart skip a beat while my cheeks started to feel warm.

"Uh, good to know. You're dismissed," I told them before leaving the war room to get ready to head out to the Western Approach.

I got changed into my scout armour, tied my hair back into a ponytail and grabbed my twin daggers and strapped them to my back. I checked to make sure that I had enough smokebombs and other throwables that I'll be needing. I left my room and headed for the stables to get Blaze ready. The companions that I'm bringing with me are Varric, Blackwall and Dorian.
