* Jaded would appear to be my slow grower for my fan fictions. I expect because it was my shortest of my stories. But lately there has been some traction. We hit 2000 views and as such I have a new chapter. I always had something up my sleeve eventually with this story, and we're not quite there yet, but there might be more in Jade's story. Until then, here it is, a little something*

"Did you just check Nick out?"

Jade jumped, startled by the question. "What? No." Her tone was maybe too defensive to be believed.

"I'm the one with daddy issues" Tori playfully backhanded her arm with a giggle.

"Right" Jade chuckled. Truth was Nick was just a regular at the bar. Had been for about a year or so. He was quiet, mostly only responding with a grunt or a nod. Unless it was Jade. He engaged Jade, tried to get in her head. He was a nice enough guy, she thought nothing of it. Until last night. Last night she had a vivid sex dream about him. They were in a white penthouse suite, and he had her against a wall. She'd never had a dream like that. One she remembered feeling. One she wanted to feel again and again.

She shook her head. What the hell was wrong with her?

"You want me to take his order" Tori offered?

"Please" Jade nodded trying to catch her breath.

She instead headed to the kitchen for the order for the guys in the corner booth. Not that she had any desire to serve them. No these were the type who wore their suits from the office out for a drink with the boys after work. Bros in the worst possible sense. She brought over their trays and was asked the following in rapid succession. Are you for dessert? when do you get off? Fries with that shake? She was also offered $100 to sit on one of their laps.

Maybe serving Nick after the sex dream wasn't so bad.

"You alright?" he asked her as she passed him at the bar.

"I'm okay Nick" she nodded thoughtfully. "Thanks."

"You need help you let me know" he nodded to her.

Her mind trailed off to how he had helped her in her dream. She shook it away realizing he meant with the booth she was serving. He had a slight smirk on his face and his blue eyes sparkled with mischief. He meant the booth right?

For the most part, Jade was content with her life. She remembered leaving her parents' house when she was young. Her time between then and the last couple of years was fuzzy at best.

She remembered issues with her parents, a woman who betrayed her and a relationship. But the details? They weren't there. She couldn't even see the faces. She didn't dare tell anyone. No she quietly lived her life. She moved to Detroit three years ago and landed her job at Charlie's place. It was owned by a pair of siblings who inherited it. Tori and Brent. Brent mostly oversaw the business side of things while Tori handled the bar. There were four more who worked there, Frankie was the main cook. Colleen was another bar tender/waitress who worked there, and they had a part timer Britney who was enrolled in the local college. Dwayne was sort of our Jack of all trades. The handy work either fell on him or Brent. Dwayne could also handle the bar or the kitchen if needed.

Then there were the regulars. There was a couple, Max and Edna, who went in twice a week. Barney was a bar fly who arrived when the doors opened and left when they closed. Lisa came in after her job at the diner each evening and had a beer. Ben was the same, but his job was as a construction worker, and he was Brent& Tori's uncle. Then the newest who had been coming in for a year, Nick.

"The booth needs ketchup" Tori called into the kitchen.

"Shit" Jade hissed.

"Problem" Brent asked?
