A few months later, Y/N had completely forgotten about her attempts to escape the huge house she was being held in. Y/N was thoroughly enjoying her stay, rather.

The slashers had filled her days with wonderful things to do and they had become more lenient with her. Y/N was once more re-granted the right to be alone in her room while she slept, she switched nights she cooked dinner with some of the boys who volunteered, and life was finally going her way after so many years of depressing twists and turns.

Y/N finally had a light shining at the end of her tunnel.

Life was great, it seemed the weather had been matching her mood as well. The days becoming warmer, the sun shining across clear skies and the birds began chirping.

Y/N even found herself allowing Hannibal to offer her his services of psychiatry.
Lord knows she needed to work through some things after such a tragic past.

In fact, she had a session today with Hannibal.

Y/N was on her way down the usual dark hall that led down to Hannibals office, her rose-coloured sun dress flowed gently behind her as the soft pitter-patter of her pink flats tapped against the ground as she strutted confidently down the hallway.

Y/N radiated beauty and kindness, yet her walk and the way she talked showed she was not to be taken advantage of because of said lovely qualities. She took no less than the same respect she gave out to those who deserved it and the sweetness she carried in her aura.

It is so amazing to see just how much of a positive impact it can have on someone when they leave a toxic household. No one really notices how much it has affected them until they make a change for the better.

Y/N knocked on the closed and spruced up door to Hannibal's office.

Not only had Y/N changed wonderfully, but the house has too. Every rotten piece of wood was replaced a with new spruce and every cobweb and spec of dirt was cleaned to where the big home seemed to sparkle. Y/N even got to start a garden all around the sides of the house, which only added to its old-timey beauty.

New coats of paint were spread across every wall, the house even now smelled of flowers and pine - rather than the must of dirt and moist from rotting wood and leaky roof bits.

"Come in, Y/N."
Hannibal's deep, yet smooth voice sounded through from the other side of the door.

Y/N twisted the knob and the door swung smoothly open without any squeaks of protest like the old door had.

"Expecting me?"
Y/N smiled, shutting the door behind her.

"Always, dear."
Hannibal smiled lightly back, like a true gentleman.

"Well, what do you have planned for me today?"
Y/N inquired.

"As a matter of fact, nothing too strong today. We've covered mostly everything that was greatly affecting you, so today it will be quite simple stuff."
Hannibal informed her.

"Okie dokie,"

"So, I have noticed quite a vast improvement in your mood and self confidence lately. Why do you think that is, hm? What is making you get out of bed in the morning?"
Hannibal began the session.

"Well, to be honest with you, Hannibal...I really think it might be you guys and this house that has made a change in me for the better. I think because my parents were on constant trips out of the country, I was alone a lot...and with no friends you can probably understand how lonely I was feeling."
Y/N told Hannibal, now sitting comfortably on the lovely light pink, velvet couch that Hannibal had put in just for her.
"The feeling of a constant empty house and living the same day over and over with no escape except from my reading, life was becoming harder and harder with each passing day. Eventually it really took its toll on me and I fell into a state of constant yearning for something more in life and despair that I couldn't change my life."

Hannibal nodded while writing things down every now and then, but not too often. Right now he was mainly listening to the magnificent woman in front of him.

"When I got here, I was upset, and rightfully so, because it was so sudden and I was confused as to why now did you all decide to find me and reach out after not talking to me for years. I was upset with the new environment and I was constantly in distress because no one would answer the burning questions in my head. There was so much to process, so many new people, an unknown house, and not to mention the ankle thing..."
Y/N continued.
"Now, I've become more use to this place and I've been able to spruce it up to be more like the home I never had. Finally gaining a good amount of freedom that I didn't have before when I first arrived here and living in a wonderful home with actual decent people who care about me feels amazing. It was a feeling I hadn't felt in forever...I realized, life is too short to be making nothing of it, so I decided I would throw on a positive attitude and shift my mindset for the better and put all the extra time I have now to good use."

"That must be a wonderful feeling of bliss for you, isn't it?"
Hannibal asked.

Y/N nodded.
"It is. I hope to continue making this house a home, with the help of you guys of course. Michael does a pretty damn good job of ripping up the flooring when I ask him to."

"Indeed."
Hannibal chuckled.
"Now, what about your pride? I would like to think that you feel very proud of yourself for this big of an achievement, yes?"

"Of course I do. I feel like a little girl again, all giddy and without having to worry about a thing in the world."
Y/N smiled brightly.

"That's good, Y/N. Very good."
Hannibal stood and walked over to the H/C haired woman.
"I'm very proud of you myself, dear. I cherish seeing you happy, I'm glad you finally found peace. As the saying goes 'a diamond is made under pressure'."

Y/N became slightly bashful and looked at the ground with cheeks to match her rose-coloured dress.

"There's no need to be shy, mi amor. This is a moment to be proud of."
Hannibal tilted his head to try and meet her gaze.

Hannibal cupped Y/N's left cheek with his right hand and gazed into her soft and understanding E/C eyes.

"You're an inspiring young woman, and the next step for you, would be to realize that. Do you understand, mi amor?"
Hannibal spoke gently.

Y/N smiled and nodded.
"I'll try,"

"Good girl."
Hannibal kissed her head, while Y/N wrapped her arms around Hannibal's neck in a tight and comforting hug.

Hannibal chuckled at her actions.

Hannibal picked her up with ease, holding her up on his hip as he put a hand on the back of Y/N's head and caressed her hair gently.

"Thank you, Hannibal."
Y/N spoke into his neck, smelling the aroma of mint and pine needles emitting from him.

"For what, dear?"

"For understanding me."
