Princess Amelia

September 15th, 2010

As we rode towards Westminster Abbey I couldn't help but feel nervous.

"I know that look." Papa said with a chuckle as he fixed his medals.

"When you and mama married. Were you nervous?" I asked as I turned my bouquet in my hands.

"What I am about to tell you, if you ever tell another soul, I shall disown you. Your mother and I married in secret first. With only your grandfather as witness because he was the King."

"Papa!"

"We were young and in love. Our secret ceremony no I was not nervous. But our broadcasted one yes. Because I hated what everyone thought of her. I wanted to protect her so badly. I understand. I shall not let anything happen to you. I swear." He said before the car stopped and I saw we were at the Abbey.

"Ready?"

"Let's go." I said with a laugh as he opened the door and stepped outside first. He waved to the crowd before placing his hat upon his head and turning to help me out the car.

I heard the screamed first before the flashes from the camera and laughed as I lifted my hand and waved.

My godchildren clustered all around us and Anna was quick to get them in line. I had watched as Rosemary and Mama were quick to go inside.

Rose came besides me and bowed her head to my father.

"Lady Rose. The train is all yours to handle." He said as the music began and the children began making their way inside.

I couldn't help but stare in awe at how the Abbey was decorated. Lilies lined everywhere I had wanted it too. The tulle of extra veil I had wanted was created into bows to be on the outside of every single pew.

Like our practice we walked around the tomb of the forgotten solider before entering where the wedding would actually take place.

Everyone rose to their feet and I felt my heart skip a beat as Here Comes the Bride began playing on the piano.

As we made our way forward I saw Harry whispering to William about how I must look.

"Poor lad. He's sweating." Papa said with a grin as one arm was intertwined with mine and the other hand on his sword.

"Papa." I whispered as we got closer to the alter and to the Archbishops who waited for us. As we got closer we stopped at Her Majesty and Prince Phillip and I gave a small bow before turning to my Mother and bowing again.

When I rose up I watched as my mother wiped both of her eyes.

As we got the alter Harry turned William around and I grinned as he gasped once he saw me.

Papa only stepped to the side as tradition.

"William Arthur Phillip Louis, will thou have this woman to thy wedded wife, to live together according to God's law in the holy estate of matrimony? Will thou love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health ; and, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?"

"I will." He said and I smiled before the Archbishop turned to me.

"Amelia Caroline Helena Anne, will thou have this man to thy wedded husband, to live together according to God's law in the holy estate of matrimony? Wilt thou love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live?"

"I will." I said as I felt the tears once again fill my eyes before trying to blink them away.

"Who giveth this woman to marry this man?" The Archbishops asked and my father smiled as he kissed my hand.

"I do." He whispered as he turned to me and pushed the veil back. Papa stared at me for a moment before nodding as he grabbed my hand and offered it the Archbishop who placed it upon Will's hand.

"I, William Arthur Philip Louis, take thee, Amelia Caroline Helena Anne, to my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God's holy law; and thereto I give thee my troth." William said and I grinned at him before nodding.

"I, Amelia Caroline Helena Anne, take thee, William Arthur Philip Louis, to my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God's holy law; and thereto I give thee my troth." I said as I felt my voice break for a moment before going back to normal.

"The ring if I may?" He asked and Rose and Harry stepped forward and handed him the rings. The Archbishop motioned for me and Will to kneel down to pray.

William helped me first and sent me a smirk before easily kneeling besides me.

As the Archbishop did the sign of the cross everyone followed before he held both the rings up and began praying."

"Bless, O Lord, this ring, and grant that he who gives it and she who shall wear it may remain faithful to each other, and abide in thy peace and favor, and live together in love until their lives' end. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

"Amen." We both said before William and my father helped me stand and the Archbishop handed the ring first to Will. He grabbed my left hand and smiled at me.

"With this ring I thee wed; with my body I thee honor; and all my worldly goods with thee I share: in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen." He said as he slid the ring on my finger and I smiled.

As I grabbed the ring and then Will's hand I smiled at him."

"With this ring I thee wed; with my body I thee honor; and all my worldly goods with thee I share: in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen."

I felt him shiver before the Archbishop clapped his hands.

We moved to the side as sat down as the normal wedding prayers and singing began.

"You look amazing my darling." He whispered and I squeezed his hand.

"As do you, darling. Thank you."

What felt like forever, which truthfully was an hour and a half later, we were led to the back to sign our wedding license. Charles stood with us with Carlos and Anna who grinned at us.

"Just here will shall need your signature." One of the priest said as I handed Anna my bouquet to hold before looking down at the wedding license and smiling.

Amelia, Princess of Wales.

It felt so weird to sign that but as I handed the pen back the two priest nodded.

'Officially married. Congratulations!" Charles said and I nodded before we all walked back out. William and I stood as and faced everyone.

"Congratulations you two." The Archbishop said before we linked hands. As my parents were first we bowed to them first and I bowed as low as I could go before we stood up and my father nodded.

We turned next to Her Majesty and Prince Phillip who grinned at us and nodded. I bowed once more as low as I could go.

When she nodded we stood up and began walking down the aisle. I had so bad just wanted to rush to the palace for the photos and party but we walked twice around the tomb of the lost solider again before making our way outside.

Everyone screamed when they saw us and I couldn't help but laugh as we were led towards the gold carriage Her Majesty used once a year. This year we got it for our wedding.

I climbed inside first and held the dress aside for Will to step in. I turned and waved to the crowd earning everyone to scream and take photos.

"We are officially married." He said as the door closed and we began making our back to Buckingham Palace.

"Now our forever begins."
