Terezis POV

I tapped my way into school with a bitter taste in my mouth. I frowned, Karkat had taken the new quite well from what I smelt. OK, so now to tell Dave. I heard his voice from behind me, he was talking to this girl called made who loved furries. Furries where really creepy in my opinion.

"Hey Dave" I whacked his leg with my cane to get his attention.

"Ouch!" He swore loudly "can you not".

I grinned at him and jade giggled.

"Can I talk to you for a minute" I nodded towards what I thought might be a quiet spot on the school fields.

"Ok be right back jade" he walked over to me "what is it?"

"I'm gonna be moving away" I start.

"How long?" He tilted his head.

"I don't know but its permanent but I can come back when I'm old enough to travel on my own or whatever" I small him frown.

"Well, have I ever told you about my eyes" Dave placed a hand on his shades.

I shook my head and he lifted the shades from his nose. I breathed in only to smell red.

"Why am I smelling red?" I start to panic "are you ok?"

"Yeah, chill tz" he chuckled and placed the shdes on his jean pocket "that's my eyes you're smelling".

"You have red eyes?"

"Yeah, its a rare condition but that's not important" he took a few steps closer "I'll miss you tz" he pulled me into a hug.

"I'm leaving next week" I mutter in his ear.

He let out a shaky breath and let go of me. He gave me a sad smile, ruffled my hair and walked back to jade, still shaky.

I sighed and went to wait for Karkat outside of our form. I leant on the wall and tried to fix my hair.

After a while,the bell rang and Karkat still was here. I guessed he was ill, since no one knew where he was.

"Terezi, mind if I sit next to you?" It was jade, I forgot she was in my form.

I nodded reluctantly and continued to lean against the cold radiator and stare at nothing.

There register was quickly done and we had free time as usual.

"So you're leaving" she begins.

"Yeah"

"That sucks, I never got to know you" she sighed.

I was a little surprised by that comment. Get to know me of all this people in this school.

"Do you have pesterchum?" I blurt.

She nods enthusiastically "yeah! Its GardenGnostic!!"

"Ok cool, mine gallowscalibrator"

"I'll look you up when I get home" she smiled at me.

I smiled back. It was a sad smile but it was the best I could do.

The lesson went slowly since Karkat wasn't here to talk to me but jade was being friendly and keeping me company.

Soon it was break and Dave had given a bottle apple juice for no reason whatsoever. I opened it and took a sip. It tasted sweet and kinda gross but I drank the whole thing for my moirail.

Dave was talking to jade again. He seemed more distant now. He honestly didn't take the news as I thought he would. He was sad, yeah, that's what I predicted, but not this sad. Not i-wont-do-any-of-my-schoolwork-and-get-told-off sad. I sat on the wall and waited for the bell to go off.
