I thought now would be a good time to update since I'm home alone for about an hour. Like I've said, I planned this story a tiny bit. I normally plan the chapter ahead very loosely. I made a cover food my petstuck but I'm going to finish this book in my own time and in the future, I might get a better idea and not even do I it.
Karkats POV
I followed terezi quietly into the forest, cursing only when I stumbled on a stray root. Looking up, I could see the sky getting darker.
"Was it a good idea to come here when I storm is coming?" I ask the blind girl.
"I've been caught in storms when I'm here before, no biggie" she shrugged it off, navigating her way through the trees.
Ah, that made sense. I remember once there was a terrible thunder storm at around 4pm. I was wasting my tea and looking out the window. The power was off and I had nothing to do. Terezi was probably here, scarred to death. A wave of sympathy shot through me. She had arrived at school two days later with a limp.
"Are you sure?" I ponder, looking back up at the sky.
"Yeah" terezi wiped some sweat off her forehead.
What the hell, it was freezing, I swear it was going to snow any second. She slipped off her big red coat Latula always makes her wear and I put my hand out to take it. Now she's wearing her black short sleeved shirt with the teal Libra sign on it, black jeans and red converse.
"OK, where to now?" I look around, not sure where we were.
Terezi ran a hand through her shoulder length hair. She expertly twirled her blind cane and sniffed the air.
"This way" suddenly she pointed her cane to the right, a serious look on her face.
I nodded and followed behind her, staring at the ground.
Suddenly, a wave of sleet hit my face. I looked up. The storm had come and it was literally half raining half snowing. I looked around for terezi, finding her nowhere.
"Terezi" I yelled, my eyes stinging from the snow.
I got out my phone and sat under a tree. Thunder could be heard from the sky. Wow, this is stupid! I decided to call terezi. After a few rings she picked up though the signal was terrible.
"Karkles, where are you!" Terezi whispered. I could just about hear her over the thunder and rain.
"I don't know" I yell. I felt something warm in my hand. "I have your coat, oh my gog terezi are you ok!!" I panicked.
"Yeah, just really cold" I could hear her sniff. "I don't know where I am".
"Of course, its the sleet" I nod, understanding,"ok, feel around".
"There's a tree" terezi confirmed, her voice going quiet for a second.
"Well done" I rolled my eyes.
"I think I smell apples. The old apple tree!" Terezis voice wavered, I could tell she was slowly freezing.
" ok, I think I know my way there" my phone buzzed a little,"be right back, kankris trying to call me".
She gave me a quiet 'ok' and I switched to kankri.
"WHERE ARE YOU!?!?" he yelled over the receiver.
"I got caught in the storm, I'm in the woods" I say calmly.
"I'm coming to get you!" He says, I can hear him frantically grab his car keys.
"No wait" I suddenly cry, tears coming from my eyes.
I hear my brother stop "what?"
"I was with terezi, I lost her in the storm" I start to sob, feeling guilty.
"How did you loose a blind girl?" Kankri asked.
"I dunno. Also, I have her coat, she's out there freezing" now I was full on crying.
"Don't cry, it's ok" kankri soothed. "I'm gonna try and find you guys, I'll take you both home and terezi can stay the night. I'll make her a bed by the radiator and phone latula, ok?"
Right now, that sounded like luxury. I nod but then realise he could see and I agreed and hung up. I made my way through the snow, which was starting to set on the ground.
About ten minutes later, I arrived by the big apple tree. I saw a shape curled up in a ball by its base. I ran up to terezi, hugging her, still crying.
"I was so scared" I breathed in her ear.
Terezi nodded. I could feel her shivering. I wrapped her massive coat around her and kissed her on the forehead.
"I love you" I sobbed into her hair.
I stopped for a second and blushed furiously. I looked into terezis eyes.
"I love you to, you big idiot!" She smirked.
I tried to act casual about this but I was freaking out inside.
"So like, should we.. Go out?" I was so awkward, I hated myself.
"Yeah" terezi nodded, shivering a little.
I hugged her tight, not wanting to Let go. Kankri put his hand on my shoulder. I stood up and helped terezi up. She was shivering and her fingers had gone blue. I lead her to the car.
When we go it back, kankri made us hot chocolate and phoned latula, explaining the situation. She said it was ok and that she could stay. I smiled, leaning against the radiator.
