Dad & Mom’s house
"Thank you." I told the front gate security before driving up to the driveway to my parents home. Once I parked the car, Jon and I got out but Drew stayed in and that raided an alarm in my brain so I opened the car to check in on him.
"What's up," I asked him.
"Nothing. I need a change of clothing but really I need a shower. I smell. But for right now, a change of clothing will do. Do you mind getting it out of the trunk."
"Trunk?"
"Yeah, gotta be prepared for anything." he answered.
"Um, okay," I said to him before closing the door and opening the back trunk retrieving a white tee and a pair of shorts before closing the trunk back.
"Hey..." said a voice from behind and at first I was scared but then I realized it was just Jon.
I said, "Hey. What's up?"
"I think I'm going to head out now."
"Why?"
"I don't think I feel comfortable being here.”
“Why?”
“I just don't feel comfortable, that's all.”
“Why? There has to be a real reason.”
Jonathan looked the other way to avoid my gaze, keeping his silence.
“Jonathan,” I called out.
“What,” he replied.
“Talk to me. Why do you wanna leave? We just got here. We haven't even made it into the house and already you wanna go and I'll let you go, but just give me one good reason before you do.”
Jonathan answered, “I don't think your dad would like me to come into his home.”
“Why not?”
“I'm my dad's son and your dad doesn't like my father so I don't think he'd like me to be around him. I'd rather go home, wherever home is, rather than be uncomfortable in another man's home. So I guess I'll wait out here for my driver,” said Jon as he then turned his back to walk away from me but I stopped him.
I said, “Jonathan, please don't leave. Why leave when you're already here. So please stay. Stay for my sake. Besides, I love having you around. You lighten up the mood everywhere you go and I'm sure gonna need a lot of that light being here where my father is. So stay with me and for me. Don't leave."
Jon groaned.
“Please,” I implored.
Jon groaned once again and said, “okay, but only because you're allowing me to stay at your place rent free."
“Rent free? We never agreed upon that.”
“I think we just did,” he grinned.
"Really Jon? Really?”
