24 year old Kendia Brown's life has always been great, even through the miniature of bad times she's stumbled upon, still and hardly ever she complains. Who would when life's mostly great?

Under the dark of the night sky and the light of the moon, I lay on the lounging chair beside the pool, watching how the lights within changed colors as I contemplated calling my friend.
There lies in my mind a fight and at this point, I'm not sure who's gonna win. A part of that mind was telling me to call my friend Dreya to talk, while the other side was begging that I don't call her, but call Marcello instead to see if maybe he was up for a conversation for old times sake. While the strong side was rooting that I call Dreya, however, it was Marcello's number that my thumb had hovered over in my contacts list. My thumb was inching closer and closer to that green icon button but it was like something was forbidding me to press it.
I took one last look at his name and with a breathy sigh, I scrolled upwards to Dreya's name in my contact list and just as I thought she would, my friend answered on the third ring.
She chirped, "hey honey! You're calling late. What's up?"
I groaned, "a lot! And 11:00 is not late."
Dreya scoffed at me and said to me, “I'll play like I didn't hear you say that 11 o'clock isn't late. Nevertheless, what do you mean by a lot? What's been going on?"
"I mean just that, but before we get into that we can get acquainted in the meantime. How have you been? How's the kids and Kenton?"
"I've been quite busy with work but I'm good and so are the rest. We're actually in the middle of movie night-- Say hi to your sister babe," said Dreya to Kenton.
"Who is that," he asked.
"Kendia," she replied.
"Oh, hey Kendia," he says and the kids all shouted, "Hey aunty!, over the phone.
"Hey aunty babies! How are you guys doing?"
"We're good," the three of them say in unison.
"That's good," I replied and they handed the phone back to Dreya and I asked her for Dreyton since I hadn't heard his voice. The only voices I heard were Kensie, Kenny and Petra's.
She responded, "girl, he's knocked out on his dad's lap."
I giggled, "he must've been playing all day huh?"
"You know just how your nephew is," she responded and asked me, "how's my sugar muffins doing anyway?"
"Keandra and Keandrew should be in their beds going to sleep by now but they're good."
"And Lj?"
"He's with his dad until I come back from my trip but he's doing good as well. He's actually being branded in his pin this week at his school for the junior prefect position."
"Wow! How wonderful! You must be so proud of him!"
"Of course I'm extremely proud of him. I got myself a little brainiac. He definitely deserves the title. I know he works so hard in his classes. He literally gets mad at himself whenever he gets a B- in any of his work. Liam keeps telling him a B- is still good but he doesn't want to hear no parts of that. He has a perfection problem. He got that from his dad."
