Ding Dong.

"Who's it," I shouted from the couch.

"Open the door, Dia."

I rolled my eyes upon recognizing the voice but I got up to open the door anyway.

"What do you want, Liam?," I stood in the doorway with my arms folded.

"Why haven't you been returning my calls," Liam pushed past me and let himself inside my house.

"Obviously I'm busy with the kids."

"Kendia, they're sleeping."

"They just fell asleep like 5 minutes ago."

"That's a lie and you know it."

I sighed, "Liam, what is it that you want from me?"

"A real relationship."

My brows furrowed as I said, "so it wasn't real all of the other times because it sure felt real to me!"

He groaned, "Kendia, you know what I mean."

"No," I shook my head, "no, I don't, but what I do know is that I'm not giving you another inch of my time." I opened the door and said, "you should go."

Liam proceeded towards me, closed the door and said to me, "If I walk out then I'm walking out on the only woman I've ever truly loved."

I groaned upon rolling my eyes, saying, "why does everyone wanna love me all of a sudden but couldn't love me when they were in position to love me. It's really annoying and it's getting boring."

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm saying that between you and Andrew I don't know who plays more games with my heart. You both say one thing and do another. And I must be blamed because clearly every time I give into the lies knowing it's lies. I wonder when I'll stop being so stupid! I let you guys use my heart. I won't allow it again. If you want my heart, you'll have to work for it."

"Work for it," Liam's voice pitched. "Work for it, how?"

"I've done some thinking earlier."

He squinched his eyes and said, "why do I feel like I won't like what gonna come out your mouth next."

"You probably won't but I'm gonna say it anyway. How do you feel about me dating other people?"

His face scrunched up when he retorted, "what do you mean by how I feel? Should that even be a question?"

"It's a legit question. How do you feel about it?"

"You know how I feel, Kendia," he fumed.

"I don't get why you're angry, Liam. We're not together."

"You don't think I know that! Do you have to keep reminding me?"

"I don't though."

Running a hand through his hair, Liam paced the floor for a while before he said, "how would you feel if the person you love comes up to you one day and says that they're gonna date other people?"
