Located in the parking lot of Judia's Children's Home in a black Lamborghini, my heart raced with anticipation for Kenya's response. In the moment it felt like she was taking one whole day to answer the simplest thing. By the time she had said something, she groaned and said, "Ugh, I gotta go sis."
"No, no, no. Tell me why he's mad?"
"Can't. Derek's here! Bye, love you," she hung up.
Ugh!
My phone vibrates. It's Kenton calling but I'm not answering his call, not until I know what's going on.
Drew walked back to the car and took a seat.
"What was your call about?" We asked at the same time.
"You first." He said rather quickly.
"It was my sister Kenya. She said Kenton's angry with me. She didn't explain what for. What about you?"
He didn't answer. He just gave me his phone but before I went to look at the screen, I was looking at him strangely wondering why he looked so distraught.
“Are you gonna at least tell me what it's about before I look at this? I'm starting to get scared.”
"No, just read the headline and watch the video." He said.
It read: Mr. Andrew Lewis. CEO of Grand International Inc. Owner of Lewis's Express and Owner of OASIS NIGHT CLUB now dating Mr. Kenton Brown Jr.; CEO of ROYALTY Hotel chains, little sister?
The video shows me singing and playing the piano. I do sound beautiful, however that's not the point. It shows the part where Andrew introduced me as his date and when he kissed me. My mouth hung wide.
"Now you see why he's mad," asked Drew.
I nodded and asked in my panic, “how can we take it down? What can we do?"
"Nothing but let it pass." He said.
"Really Andrew. Kenton is going to kill me!"
"He won't. He loves you too much."
"Love!? He probably hates me right now. You know I got mad at him earlier for dating my best friend behind my back? He's probably at my house right now ready like freaking Freddy. I'm sure he wants to devour me right now."
He chuckled, "You don't think he's going to chew my head off too? Years and years he's been telling me to stay away from you. Damn, he's probably at my house, not yours."
"What do you mean by years and years? I've only seen you in the food store," I said to him, looking more confused than before.
"Actually no, that wasn't the first time. Do you remember that ugly black guy with the acne and braces that would eat everything out the fridge at your moms house and then swim in the pool afterward?" I nodded. "That was me," he said.
