"How can you stand to look in the mirror? Atlantis. K'orin. The team. You've betrayed us all." La'gaan said through gritted teeth. It seemed as if he'd pry open the bars he was holding onto if it wasn't for the inhibitor collar around his neck. "Neptune's beard! I can't believe I once idolised you." I stood behind Kaldur watching him. I knew he didn't know about this undercover op but I knew Kaldur was still hurt by it. "Hey, he'll understand when this is over." I said telepathically. "And when your plan works out he'll be out of harms way."

"I know. It's just a heavy burden to carry." He said. I could tell he was tired. Tired of the secrets and pretence. And the fact that our friends believed we were traitors. The door to the chamber opened and in walked Black Manta. "Why is this prisoner still aboard? He should be delivered at once to our partner. Prepare ott." He said.

"I will handle it personally, father." Kaldur said

"Negative. I have other duties for you my son." Black manta said. "Lark will take care of this one and join you afterwards." I gave a slight nod as I took the gun tranquilliser gun from Kaldur hands.

"You're not his son. You're his errand boy." La'gaan exploded. "And you." He said turning to me. "You're a sorry excuse for a hero. You betrayed not only your father but your family." His eyes filled with anger.

"It's a good thing I'm not a hero anymore isn't it." I said walking to the cage. "We are aware of our part to play in the bigger picture La'gaan. Are you?" I injected the serum into his chest. This was the only way, regardless of how he may feel about us right now. We watched him fall to the ground making a final thud on the metallic floor. I gestured to the guard to put him in a pod and after he was loaded up, I left to take him to the cargo ship where he'll be sent to our "partner", whoever that is anyway.

"Brother Tommy, I think we're plum crazy to throw in with this fella." Tuppence Terror said leaning over to her twin brother. "I mean, it wasn't two years ago Mr. Aqualad here was trying to lock us up in Belle Reve."

I rolled my eyes at this I leaned on the arm rest in the ship. We'd been assigned a mission to find and capture Blue Beetle and we were on our way to his location. For whatever reason the Terror twins and Icicle Jr. were tagging along as well as Kaldur new hand picked recruit Tigress. "Well, sister Tuppence, folks say he had a change of heart since finding out who his pappy is." Tommy said in his thick southern accent.

Junior leaned over Tuppence, "I hear he switched sides because of some girl with I totally get. You know, if it's the right girl."

"Step back Junior, you're giving me the chills." The girl said before pushing him away. The boy kept the same smirk on his face as Tommy piped up again. "Me, I'm more concerned about this Astria or Lark. How come she just switched side with him. Isn't her daddy Superman? The Man of steel. I ain't sure I buy it."

"You know we can hear you right?" Tigress asked.

"That we do missy. These are open questions, you see." Tommy said smugly. I turned in my seat to face the three. "Oh, ok if that's the case, which one of you would like to ask your questions of Black Manta. And question his son's picks for his right hands suggesting he and us can't be trusted?" There confidence started to falter. "If no one's up for it, I suggest we take this plane ride in silence and focus on the mission."

"Gosh I love a sassy woman." Junior whispered while looking at me. I scoffed and turned back to my monitor. A few minutes later we finally got into El Paso and got out of the ship a little ways away from where Blue Beetle's signal was coming from. We moved in and I flew into the air before kicking Blue into the sandy ground below. I held the boys arms behind his back but not without his struggling against my hold.
