An army of flying alien creatures spilled out into the skies of Rann. On any ordinary day I'd stare at it in wonder and awe but unfortunately this wasn't one of those days.

Lasers flew through the air hitting whatever they could to keep the Parademons back. Superman, Wonder Woman and I were in air duty, trying to keep them away from the civilians.

I grabbed two of them and used them as swatters taking five of them out. They weren't much of a nusicance one on one but this swarm was starting to bug me. Energy balls formed in my hands and I shot them down, each of them crashing into the hard ground.

The leader of this troop was on the ground and left out a loud screech at Ice. "Ice look out!" I yelled. She turned blocked the attack before Black Lightning went over to help her out.

"Lightning, Don't let it touch you!" I said punching a hole through one of the aliens. Something felt different about this one.

"I kinda figured. I'll just zap ugly here into dreamland for a while." Black lighting sent a bolt of electricity through the creature and it gurgled into agony. It's see-through body giving a clear yet gory view of its erratic beating heart before it fell to the ground.

The swarm had cleared at this point and dad and I landed beside Black Lightning, Superman doing the same after a moment. "I don't hear a heartbeat." I said looking down at the blackened corpse.

"No, no, no. That wasn't enough juice to kill anything. It cannot be dead." Lightning said kneeling before it.

"She. It is a she." Alanna said in a somber tone. She knelt before the body as she scanned it. "Or was. Scans indicate heart failure, and I'm reading a female. Approximate age 14 Earth years."

She was just a kid, barely a life lived. Jeff was filled with grief and sorrow but mostly regret. "I'm sorry but this is a human child. From Earth." Alanna said.

The Watchtower
July 27, 19:57 EDT

"Recognized. Astria, 2-3." The zeta tube announced as I walked into the Watchtower. Jeff, M'gann, Connor and the rest of the junior team were already there and it seed as if I was the late one. The air was already thick with the reason we were there. I gave Jeff a nod as he left with the conference room.

"Hey guys." I greeted with a smile. Gar ran up to me and gave me a big hug. "Y/n, where have you been? I have so much to tell you." He said enthusiastically. I smiled as I returned the hug.

"I've been around, you know saving the world, lounging around, trying to be a functionally member of society." I laughed.

"Screw that you should be here, with us." He said letting go. I gave a small smile, ruffling his hair.

"I might come back one day. Not yet." I noticed Kid flash in the back of the group and gave him a smile. It was weird seeing him in Wally's suit. He looked so much like him but I knew he'd honor his memory and do right by him. Maybe made Kid Flash his own. Just then Aqualad walked in and I was brought back to why I was there in the first place. Kaldur and I walked to M'gann and Connor.

"They're all waiting for you." Connor said to the both of us.

"I am not looking forward to this." Aqualad said, his demeanor heavy.

"You have our support." M'gann said looking at the both of us. "Always."

"Ready?" Aqualad asked me. I nodded and we left for the conference room. It was dimly lit with the Justice League seated at the U-shaped table where I took my seat beside Zatanna.
