The G. Gordon program theme echoed through the steel walls of the submarine. Cold air streaming into the room, making it feel even more like a prison cell. I scooped out a spoonful of strawberry yogurt while sitting on the edge of my bed as he spoke. "Next on Godfrey's bonehead list, the launch of Ferris Aircraft's new Earth-Mars communication satellite. That's right, folks. It's not enough we've been invaded  by aliens..." I rolled my eyes at the emphasis. "Now, we're going out of our way to contact them. My friends, if you're asking what's wrong with this picture..."

"Jackass." I muttered before turning the TV off. I couldn't believe that after all these years of saving people and doing good things, aliens were still villainized by some people. Yes, they were evil aliens but why should that overshadow all the good we've done?

Kaldur pulled me out of my thoughts as his voice cut through the silence. "Rose, report to the briefing room."

"Copy." I said. I got changed into my suit and mask before making my way down to the briefing room. A few soldiers gave me nods as I walked past. I navigated through the metal maze until I finally got to the room. There stood Manta and Kaldur in their respective suits. "Manta, Kaldur." I greeted.

"Take a seat, Miss Rose. We have some important business to discuss." I took my seat across from Kaldur as Manta filled us in on what we'd be doing. "As you know The Earth-Mars launch is happening today. I need you and Kaldur on the front lines leading the troops. We have a missile ready to destroy the rocket."

We nodded. "Yes sir." We said in unison. This launch is crucial to an alliance with Mars. Nightwing and his team will be there to make sure everything ran smoothly. "Kaldur'am you'll be in the water with the launch squad, you give the signal. Rose, you're gonna make sure those heroes don't get in our way. Whatever means necessary." I gave a nod in understanding. He dismissed us and we left to prepare for the fight.

Cape Canaveral
March 19, 20:59 EDT

I sat in the leading ship that towed the secondary vessel with the missile. Kaldur was leading that squad as they'd be staying in the water. "Detract the load." I said as we  got to the bottom of the sea, right next to the shore where the rocket was being launched.

My unit and I went to the surface. The smell of salt water filling there are as the men marched into the beach. "Fire." I said. Lasers rained on the platform as it they moved in, I took the moved in behind them, throwing my own energy blasts at it while standing atop the ship. The rocket started powering up getting ready to launch. "Move move!"

The sound of the missile cut through the air as it approached the rocket, just when we thought it would make contact, the camouflaged Bioship shot it out of the sky leaving a cloud of smoke and falling debris. "Kaldur, the first missile is down."

"Good. Everything is going to plan. I'll initiate the second phase." He said. Suddenly an arrow shot into the air and emitted a flash of bright white light. I turned away only to hear the grunts of the soldiers as they were taken down but Artemis and Nightwing. "Now." Kaldur said to me.

I flew into the air and approached the beach. The two watched both air and water as Kaldur emerged from the water too. "You don't want to do this." Nightwing said.

"Yes we do." Kaldur brought up a wave of water and shot it at them. The two hit the wall but got up quickly. I flew to them and punch the wall between them as they moved apart. Kaldur took Artemis as I went for Nightwing. He got out his batons and got into his stance.

I got into a stance of my own as a smirk, hidden behind my mask, formed on my lips. I moved forward and attacked. He did a good job dodging and blocking, even managing to hit me a few times. Nightwing threw a round kick but I ducked in time and punched him in the gut. He moved away with a hand on his abdomen."Just like old times huh?"
