While Alan and Jeff strolled back to their hotel, their fingers intertwined, the peaceful evening was abruptly interrupted. Out of the bustling crowd, a boy, looking younger than Alan but older than Jeff, emerged and approached them with an urgent energy.
"Jeff!" His voice cut through the ambient noise, and both Alan and Jeff turned to face him. Alan's brow furrowed in surprise, his eyes darting around as he tried to place the unexpected familiarity of this stranger. They were in a foreign country, and the sight of someone recognizing Jeff felt like a jarring anomaly.
The boy's face brightened into an eager grin as he locked eyes with Jeff. "Oh? P'Gon!" Jeff's face instantly lit up with a radiant smile, one Alan had rarely seen—brighter and more genuine than he had ever witnessed before.
He stops in front of the couple looking at their intertwined fingers and then to their faces. "Is this your boyfriend?" He smiles at Alan like an innocent kid, "So you must be the famous P'Alan who took good care of our nong Jeff." Alan notices Gon's voice when he says 'Our nong Jeff.' It was as sweet as if he was calling him his own, Alan felt threatened. The guy was also an Alpha, he could smell it.
"Hello! I'm Gon! I'm Jeff's senior back in his university days." Gon reached out his hand which Alan accepted hesitantly, he didn't like the aura of the guy even when undoubtedly he looked kind and caring.
"I'm Alan, Jeff's husband." Gon chuckles awkwardly after being crushed by Alan's hand. Alan let go of him and then looked at Jeff who was smiling without care, waiting for an explanation as to who the guy was. "Lung, P'Gon was the senior I told you about. He's the senior who shared the same last student number." Jeff beams at Alan who couldn't help but smile at the look of his young husband. He also felt a tinge of jealousy seeing how Jeff was all smiley talking to this Gon.
"Nong Jeff, do you still have the thing I gave you?" Gon asks shyly, his fingers scratching the back of his neck to which Alan frowns.
"Does this senior like Jeff? And what thing?" he thought.
"Oh you mean Kooky? I still hug him at times. Thank you for giving me that teddy bear phi. It helps me sleep at night all the time." Jeff says as he continues to smile at his senior, Alan frowns even further at the sudden realization.
Alan had always noticed that Jeff had a particular stuffed toy he clung to. No matter if they went on vacation, Jeff never left the toy behind. It was his constant companion, brought along to be hugged tightly while he slept. Alan never mentioned how worn and dirty the toy had become over time, instead, he cherished the sight of Jeff's serene expression as he cuddled it. The way Jeff snuggled with the doll, its frayed edges pressed close to his cheek, was a small but endearing part of their life together—a tender reminder of the comforts and memories he held dear.
He once asked Jeff about the doll, and Jeff explained that it helps him sleep at night and that it was given to him by an important person. Alan thought it was from Jeff's parents but now it was clear it wasn't. Realizing this, Alan was furious. He didn't show it, but inside he was filled with jealousy towards the unknown person and the doll.
"Ai'nuu, let me go grab something for a bit. You can go back first. Call me if anything happens." Alan takes a last glance at Gon and then leaves after Jeff replies to him.
Alan left in a hurry, he didn't even know where he was going. All he wanted was to step away because he didn't want Jeff to see him as someone easy to be jealous, and get frustrated as such a small matter.
After speaking with his senior, Jeff went back to his and Alan's hotel room. Once there, he took the time to freshen up before settling into the bed. Sitting comfortably, he carefully dried his hair with a soft towel, enjoying the peaceful moments of solitude in the room.
