In the bustling city of Bangkok, Michael and Topten were the epitome of young love. Their romance blossomed amidst the vibrant energy of the city streets, where they often walked hand in hand, lost in their own world of whispered promises and stolen kisses.

Michael was a soldier who stood tall and proud, his body was a symbol of strength and courage. Topten on the other hand was a volunteer who embodied warmth and kindness, his gentle smile lighting up the place wherever he went. Together, they were unstoppable, their love shining bright against uncertainty and fear.

As their love deepened, Michael and Topten began planning for their future. They dreamed of a life together, filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities. They talked about getting married, starting a family, and growing old together, their hearts overflowing with hope and happiness.

"Michael~!" Topten calls from the living room as he gets home from a long day of work. He noticed the lights were turned off but he thought that his boyfriend would be at home by this hour after all he was just working on some documents for his discharge. "Babe!" He called but no one answered. Maybe no one was home, he thought. He turned on the lights in the living room, which showed a very big heart bouquet that was offered to him by someone hiding behind it. He smiled as he took the flowers and then smelled it. "Babe," He looked to his boyfriend whom he realized was kneeling on one knee on the ground.

He was shocked as he looked from Michael's face, smiley and nervous, to the velvet box that held a vibrant and beautiful diamond ring. "I know it might be too soon but after I am discharged I want to stay with you and we could start a family together. Will you marry me?" Michael asks and Topten couldn't believe it nor did he expect it. "Yes!" He cries as he holds out one hand while holding the bouquet in the other hand.

Michael slipped the ring on Topten's ring finger then stood up and they shared a sweet and soft kiss as they shared a beautiful moment that would be a step closer to their future.

But fate had other plans.

One day, Michael received orders for a mission before discharging that would take him far away from Topten, to the war-torn Northern Border. The news came as a shock, throwing their carefully laid plans into disarray.

With a heavy heart, Michael broke the news to Topten, "I'm going to be deployed to Chiang Rai for my last mission before I get discharged." his voice trembling as he struggled to tell his lover the news.

Topten was devastated of course. He couldn't bear the thought of being separated from Michael, of not knowing if he would ever come back to him but he knew that duty called, and he vowed to support Michael in any way he could. "It's okay, it's your duty. If it was my volunteer work you would also be supporting me." Topten caresses the man's cheeks, he'll definitely miss those.

He'll miss his eyes, his lips, his touch, his smile, his warmth, his everything but fate did play with their lives.

"Just come back to me, safe and complete." Topten jokes that make them chuckle but the heaviness in those moments wasn't easy to lift. After all, there was no complete assurance that Michael would come back the way he was both physically and mentally. There wasn't even an assurance that he would come back alive. They shared a passionate kiss before they went to bed that night.

Before he left, Michael made sure that if anything happened Topten was taken care of, he left a message to both of the families, to take care of Topten while he wasn't around. He was determined to come back as soon as possible anyway, he vowed to come back to Topten. He hadn't broken any promises before and surely he wouldn't want to break it now. He made sure to come back, to live with Topten, to start a family with him. All that was left was the last mission and after that, he'll be with Topten for the rest of his life.
