Note: The song just fits well with Jeff's story realizing he needs Alan.
Jeff was tired all throughout the day, but he thought it was just because he had so much to do. He was working all day, he had to help the kids from the foundation to get back to their families while some of them were settling in another house, much better than the foundation they grew up in.
He was down to the last kid for the day when he felt a sudden pain in his lower stomach, he was sweating madly and he felt feverish. There was only one thing that could make sense as to what was happening to him, his heat was starting.
There was a problem though, he was always on drugs that weren't clinically tested, sometimes making his heat as unnoticeable as possible or sometimes in worse cases, Tony let him take a drug that was a higher dosage so he wouldn't go into heat so he didn't know what will happen this time.
He has already consulted a doctor with Alan before and the doctor suggested he'd lay off any drugs for a few months when he had his heat until his cycle became regular again. Alan, as his alpha, made sure that he did it.
However, the alpha was disheartened by the doctor's note advising against any sexual activity between them during Jeff's heat. The doctor explained that while Alan had the self-control to avoid such encounters, Jeff might lose control and his body might not be able to take it. Jeff could lose control and push himself beyond his limits, which could endanger his well-being. Additionally, the doctor recommended that they maintain distance during Jeff's heat due to a complication with Jeff's scent glands.
Normally, omegas in heat would release scents at double the usual rate, but Jeff's scent glands were producing an even more overwhelming amount. This excess release drained his energy, leaving him easily fatigued as his body diverted resources to the scent glands instead of other vital functions.
Given this complication, the doctor warned that the heightened scent could also push Alan beyond his restraint, meaning he'd go into a rut and potentially lead to dangerous situations for both of them. He strongly recommended that Alan avoid being around Jeff during his heat and if Jeff did find himself in heat while Alan was nearby, the doctor advised him to distance himself as quickly as possible. Taking this advice to heart, Jeff went to run away as fast as possible.
"Shit—Argh!" Jeff collapsed onto the ground, overcome by a pain he had never experienced before. This heat was one of the worst he'd ever endured; it was not just the physical agony but also the torment in his mind. His thoughts were consumed with images of his alpha, Alan. He longed for Alan's touch, desperate for any comfort that might alleviate his suffering. The confusion and chaos in his mind grew as the heat intensified, making him want to flee to the sanctuary of his own apartment but he was still in the foundation and his apartment was miles away.
He staggered through the building, his vision blurring with each step. Panic drove him to escape, even though he could barely see where he was going. All he knew was that he needed to get away from the immediate vicinity while Alan was preoccupied, ensuring every room was secure and every child was safely evacuated. Jeff's heart pounded as he forced himself to keep moving, driven by a primal urge to distance himself from Alan's presence and the overwhelming sensations of his heat.
Jeff panted heavily as he ran, his breaths coming in ragged gasps. To his shock, his desperate flight led him to an old room in the building's foundation—one he hadn't seen in ages, his old room.
Desperation drove him inside, where he fumbled through drawers and shelves in search of medication. He was beyond caring about the doctor's warnings; the pain and chaotic thoughts were overwhelming, and he felt like a stranger in his own body.
