"This is a bad idea!" The twelve boys were gathered outside what was supposed to be the scariest haunted manor in Bangkok. The air was thick with anticipation, and a chill swept through the evening, causing them to huddle closer together.
They had talked about it before, what they wanted to do next, and with Halloween upon them, exploring the haunted manor seemed like the perfect adventure. The crumbling facade loomed above them, its windows like dark eyes watching their every move.
"Stop being such a scaredy cat, Lee!" Pavel called out, adjusting the strap of his backpack filled with cameras and flashlights. He, along with Pooh, had initiated this adventure, eager to scare their friends. "Yeah, come on. It'll be fun," Pooh added, trying to lighten the mood with a grin.
"You know that spirits are real, right?" Ping whispered to Pavel, glancing nervously at the manor. Pavel simply smiled back, an expression of confidence that did little to soothe Ping's growing unease. "Come on, phi, it'll be fine. We'll do merit afterward and pray for them," he reassured, but Ping and Nut, while craving a thrill, exchanged worried glances. They felt this was teetering on the edge of recklessness.
"Come on, let's get over this. Is everyone ready?" Sailub asked, surveying the group. His voice was steady, but a slight tremor betrayed his own apprehension.
The boys looked at each other, their faces a mix of excitement and trepidation, and one by one, they nodded. "Ready!" they confirmed, though a few of them hesitated.
With that, the group stepped forward, the sound of crunching leaves beneath their feet echoing in the quiet night. As they crossed the threshold into the manor, the temperature seemed to drop, an eerie silence enveloping them. The grand entrance hall was a testament to decay, with peeling wallpaper and cobwebs stretching across the ceiling like a ghostly tapestry.
"Let's split up, right?" Benz suggested, his voice bright with bravado. "It'll be way more fun to explore different parts!"
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Nut interjected, concern lacing his voice. "What if something happens?"
"Stop worrying! It's just an old house," Garfield chimed in, flashing a grin. "What's the worst that could happen?"
With a mix of enthusiasm and hesitation, the boys paired off, the atmosphere thickening with unspoken tension. Pooh and Pavel along with Benz and Garfield headed toward the staircase, eager to investigate the second floor, while Sailub and Pon, with Ping and Nut, made their way to the living room and kitchen, where shadows danced along the walls. Michael and Topten giggled as they snuck off to the basement, ready to share ghost stories. Meanwhile, Pop and Lee ventured into the attic, their curiosity piqued by the promise of forgotten treasures.
As the last pair disappeared from sight, a heavy silence descended upon the manor, the air charged with an unseen energy. Shadows flickered in the corners of their eyes, and the faint sound of whispers began to echo through the halls, sending chills down their spines.

In the basement, Michael and Topten found an old, dusty lantern resting atop a rotting wooden crate. The flickering light from the lantern cast eerie shadows that danced across the walls, revealing an array of forgotten furniture—a moth-eaten armchair, an ornate trunk, and shelves lined with broken relics. The atmosphere was thick with neglect and dust, and a faint, musty odor lingered in the air.
"You think anyone ever actually got haunted down here?" Michael joked, his voice echoing slightly in the stillness. He chuckled, but Michael's laughter faded as he felt an inexplicable chill creep along his spine.
"Very funny," Topten replied, attempting to shake off the feeling. He scanned the room, his heart racing with a mix of excitement and unease. "Let's just see what we can find."
