"Pancakes are cold." Jonas told the two when they walked through the door, the father spying Cori's tear stained cheeks and red rimmed eyes, a heated glare being thrown to the wolf.
"Sorry dad. Sam and I got to talking, and he helped me. Made me feel my emotions and stuff." Cordelia told her father vaguely before switching topics. "Did you actually make enough for Sam? It looks like most of the bacon's gone." She said aloud and Sam chuckled. "I wouldn't blame him on that. It wouldn't last two seconds at home." Sam said and Cori smiled, knowing he was talking about the pack and their raging appetite.
Jonas's glare softened when he realized the Uley boy was not the cause of the tears, and once again was just hesitant about him being around. "Fix you a plate. Everything can be reheated." Jonas told the two and that's what they did.
Sitting at the kitchen table with their now steaming plates, one much fuller than the other, Jonas sat across from them, watching them.
"Bella called." He said suddenly, enough to make Cori stop mid bite. "During School? What's wrong?" Cori asked, the brunette having her full attention. "She was just checking up on you. I told her that you were out with Sam and she seemed surprised, maybe even a bit hesitant. Should I be worried?" Jonas asked with a raised brow and Sam tried not to laugh at how the Austin was trying to be intimating.
"Cori and I got into an argument some weeks back, and hadn't spoke much since. Today I apologized and smoothed things over and we're good." Sam told the father.
Jonas nodded, seemingly accepting the answer.
"After eating, I was gonna go with Sam to the reservation, if that's alright." Cori said and Jonas nodded. "Just be back before sunset." He told her and she promised that she would be.
The two quickly finished and placed their plates in the sink. "I'll see you later dad." Cori called out. "Make sure to text Bella. She'll be worried." "Okay." Cori called back as she grabbed her bag and slipped on her shoes.
"So who do we see about this first?" "I would like to go to the council, but I think seeing if Billy knows anything would be a wise decision." Sam told her.
"Billy Black?" She asked and Sam nodded. "For fucks sake. I can't get away from him." "Jacob?" Sam guessed with a grin on his lips. "Everywhere I turn he's there." Cori hissed. "Well he doesn't know about us yet, so you're safe, for now." "What do you mean by that?" Cori asked, her brow raised.
"Billy is the chief, the spirit warrior literally runs in his veins, and now Jacob's. It's a matter of time before he turns." Sam told her.
"What did you find?" Cori asked. Sam quieted as he turned to look at her. "I think it would be wise to wait until we were at Billy's." Sam told her seriously, only making her more nervous.
Thankfully it didn't take forever like it seemed to with Bella's slower truck. The red house slowly came into view and Cori breathed out. "Nervous?" "A little." Cori told his and Sam smirked.
Getting out, he didn't wait for Cori to follow, knowing she may need a bit of time to prepare herself.
Knocking on the door, Billy answered and the two talked in whispers as their eyes flickered to Cori who still sat in the truck.
She wasn't scared. She wanted answers. She was nervous about finding out what she was, and not being able to control it. Not that she could now, but there was nothing worse than having the information just out of reach.
Sam waved her over and she climbed out of the truck, making her way to his side. "Billy." "Cordelia. It's nice to see you again." He told her. "If it were under better circumstances, I would say me too." She said and he smiled.
"Hopefully you'll learn what you need today." He told her cryptically. "Do you know something about me?" She asked. "We should talk inside." Billy said as he rolled back away from the door.
The two walked in and sat down on the couch. "Where do you want me to start?" Billy asked. "From the beginning, preferably." Cori said and Sam elbowed her.
"Sam told me of the name you told him. mná doiléir? I've heard it in a legend. Though it was mentioned as a spirit woman. There was one attached to the tribe decades ago."
"What could she do?" Cori asked. She was spirit warrior much like the wolves are for our tribe, though the spirit woman was not bound to a tribe or pack. She was created to protect one specific person. It was always someone important, this time, a chiefs son. She was known to be silent, hidden, to have no scent, and to have overall powers that would protect her chosen one. Does this sound like you, Cori?"
"Chosen one?" Cori asked. "Bella." Sam said as he looked at her. "Yeah. I already knew that." Cori told them and the two looked at her. "The first time we met, it was an instant connection. We both got it."
"It explains why you protected her so well from- them." Sam said seeing her flinch from the thought of the Cullens.
"Sam also told me of your other talent." Billy told her. "My screaming?" Cori asked, and Billy nodded. "That's not part of the legend. It's a different one entirely and not one from the tribe. You fit it perfectly Cordelia. The Irish heritage, the bite. A banshee in plain sight. They're not well known because it takes supernatural intervention for the banshee to appear. The bite on your shoulder, the venom might have been extracted, but the moment it was in contact with your blood, that was all it needed." Billy told her.
"What does this mean?" "It means you're one in a million." Billy told her. "Do you know what powers I'll have or how to train them?" Cori asked. "Legend says it's different for each spirit woman."
"So I have to figure this out on my own?" Cori asked, the weight of the situation falling on her.
"You've found your chosen one. That's half of the battle. The rest depends on what your chosen one needs protecting from. You may be more special than anyone knows, Cordelia."
A/N: How did you guys enjoy this chapter!!! Let me know. I like that she is still somewhat connected to the pack, even if it's through stories.
Also, I have updated Timely Demise. If you haven't read it, it's a pretty cool story. Teen Wolf x Grimm cross over!
