"What?" Embry said as he looked upon the red head. "Uh, yeah. I'm one of you guys, well, kinda. I'm a
mná doiléir. It's a type of spirit warrior, but made for a specific person." "So what can you do?" Embry asked excited, but Cori just shrugged her shoulders, the anger in her softening seeing Embry's face, knowing he was alright.

"Not much at the moment. I know I'm invisible in visions of the future, most people can't read my mind, I can flicker in and out of reality, and I have a really loud scream. Other than that, I really don't know." Cori said looking down to the ground.

"We'll figure it out." Sam said and her eyes shot over to his figure. "What is this we shit?" She asked, her lips turned up in a snarl. "The reason I haven't tried to contact you, Cori was because you yourself said you were dangerous. I wanted to see what I could find. And I did find something. In our own history." Sam told her, peaking Cori's interest. "Why couldn't you just tell me this?" Cori asked him, "Why wait until I hated you?" "You don't hate me." Sam told her, sure of himself. "Well, I don't like you." She snipped back, her grayish blue eyes glaring daggers into him.

"I need to get back to the Black's." Cori said as she stepped back. "Jacob? Why? You actually do hate him." Embry asked. "I left Bella with him." "Willingly?" Embry asked with a smirk. "Shut up Embry. Carlisle told me that his ancestors were wolves. If a threat came after Bella, I figured he was the best choice. Plus for some unknown reason, she can actually tolerate him." Cori said, the last past mainly to herself, but of course the wolves heard.

Embry smiled as the rest of the wolves seemed to smirk to themselves. "We'll talk later." Cori told Sam, "That is if you actually show up."

Headed back to her car, Embry followed. "Cori-" "It's not your fault Embry." She told him, though not able to look him in the eyes for more than a couple seconds at a time. "Sam doesn't have complete control over me. He didn't have my phone either. I saw your texts and heard your voicemails, but I was scared." He admitted to her.

"Embry, you turn into a giant dog, you're allowed to be scared. And you didn't know. I can't fault you for that. All my anger is on Sam, not on you." She told him. "Friends?" He asked. "Friends." She told him. Embry brought her into a hug, and though she froze for a minute, she eventually hugged back.

"I don't mean to cut this short, but I really gotta go." She told him. "See you around?" Embry asked and Cori smiled. "I think you'll be seeing a lot of me, Call." Cori told him and the boy gave her a goofy smile.

"Bye Embry." She said waving at the boy, and he waved back as she climbed into her Jeep, driving off.

Pulling into the Black's drive, Bella stepped out of the shed, spying the Jeep. "Cori! Where were you? I sent you messages." Bella said worriedly. "I got caught up with my friend. I'm sorry for making you wait." Cori told her. Sensing Bella's internal panic, as if almost on instinct, Cori's hand found hers, intertwining their fingers. Bella smiled at their conjoined hands, her body seemingly relaxing.

"Good of you to finally show up." Jacob said coming from the shed. For a single minuscule second, Cori could see what Bella found attractive in the boy. His dirty hands, grease stained shirt, his hair tousled from manual labor, but then she remembered, it's Jacob. A shiver of disgust ran down her spine at the thought of even finding a single piece of him attractive, making her recoil into herself.

"Cori?" Bella asked, feeing the girl flinch. "Cold chill, sorry." Cori told her, narrowing her eyes on the boy even more. Having those thoughts, even for just a second, made her hate him even more.

Remembering that the boy said something, Cori's lips turned into a snarl. "Shut it Jacob. Nobody asked you." Cori hissed.

Jacob went to open his mouth, but Cori beat him to it. "We should probably be headed home." Cori told Bella, and the brunette girl nodded. "Bye Jake. Thanks for hanging out with me." Bella said giving the boy a brief hug, which he relished in. "Anytime." He told her.

Climbing into the Jeep, Bella followed shortly after. Cori pulled out her phone, seeing there were indeed multiple texts from Bella, but there was also one from her father. Flipping her phone shut, she glanced at her phone once more, wondering what the text was about, but decided to ignore it until later, and then they were off.

"I'm sorry for not seeing your messages." Cori told the brunette. "What actually happened? I can see you're stressed." Bella told her. "I ran into Sam." Cori told her and Bella looked at her wide eyed. "And?" "And nothing, we had a yelling match, he said he might have found something useful about me, never apologized like usual, and that was about it." Cori said and Bella looked at her. "That's it?" "That's it." Cori agreed. "Why did you just glance at your phone?" Bella asked. "My dad sent me a text." "Your dad never texts." Bella said and Cori nodded. "I know."

"Why don't you drop me off, then head home. If your dad texted, it's probably important." Bella told her and Cori nodded.

Pulling into the Swan's drive, right behind Bella's rusted truck, the Jeep was put into park. "Thanks for today, I know you don't like him." Bella told Cori and the redhead shrugged. "You do, so that's all that matters. He's important to you Bella." Cori said and Bella smiled. "Thanks. That means a lot Cori." The brunette said getting out, but Cori jumped out of the car, meeting her in between the two vehicles. "I want to talk about it later, but the kiss. It was real. For me anyway." Cori told the girl and Bella smiled. "It was for me too."

The two girls hugged, soaking up this time as Cori whispered in Bella's ear, "Call me Lia again." "Are you sure?" Bella asked, pulling away from the hug. "Im sure. I'm more than sure." Cori told her and Bella smiled brightly at her, before leaning in and stealing a quick kiss. Before she could get away, Cori grabbed Bella's jacket, pulling her back towards her as their lips met in a tender kiss.

"I missed you." Cori mumbled against her lips and her felt Bella smile. "I missed you too." The brunette said as she pecked her once more before pulling back.

"You have to go talk to your dad, while I talk to mine." Bella said, her eyes trained in on a window where Charlie stood, watching the girls with a small smile on his face as he turned away from the window. "Have fun with that." Cori told her and Bella chuckled.

"Tell me what happens." Bella said over her shoulder and Cori gave her a thumbs up.

Pulling out of Bella's drive and into her own, she noticed her father's car was in the drive.

Getting out, she entered the house carefully. "Dad?" Cori called out. "In here Carrot." "What did you want to talk about?" Cori asked as she entered the kitchen, to find papers laying on the table, one in particular standing out to her.

Fork High School

"I re-enrolled you in school. You start on Monday." Jonas told his daughter. Cori shook her head as she looked at her father, her breathing becoming shallow as her skin became pale. "I'm not ready." She said as tears clouded her vision. "You are baby. You just have to do it. Bella will be by your side." Jonas told her encouragingly, but she shook her head. "No. I'm not- I'm-" "Baby, you have to. The school board would only allow you to do online for four months. You knew this was coming." He told her as he stood up, embracing Cori in a hug. "I'm not ready." She whispered as tears fell down her face.
