That night between Forks and the reservation was a rough one, both sides were experiencing pain and loss.
An estranged ex- wife and detested mother along with a dearly loved father and husband. They couldn't compare apples to apples, they wouldn't dare try, especially in a time like this. Everyone was torn. Especially the pack.
Seth Clearwater, Harry's youngest, and only son was destined to change, but was only fifteen. Their eyes were on him, and seemly only him as Cori's eyes seemed to be else where. Cori's eyes seemed to be focused in on the shadows that seemed to loom behind Seth's fate.
Where Sam made sure Seth was monitored 24/7, he made it his personal mission to watch over Cordelia. After her meltdown earlier, when she stated she hated the Cullens, then proceeded to laugh about it until she sobbed, she had been quiet. She listened, she looked, but she didnt speak. It was very un-Cori like, and it was worrying Sam tremendously.
Though in a moment when his eyes and thoughts were elsewhere, Sam lost eyes on Cori, not knowing that everything he knew was about to change.

On the dimly lit, damp, black top covered road, Cori stood as she watched from the outside, an absolutely heartbreaking scene.
Sue Clearwater was sitting at the table, people gathered around her, and yet she looked so alone. Charlie Swan sat on one side, a hand wrapped around hers in a sign of support as Billy walked her through the tribe's honoring ceremony, and her options.
Cori felt a presence next to her, and though she never looked to see who it was, she knew. "I couldn't be in there any more." Leah told her. "I get it." Cori said as she leaned her head against her friends shoulder, or what should have been her shoulder, but was now just slightly down from her shoulder.
Casting a glance down at the ground, she realized they were on solid, even ground, and it made her eyes shoot up to look Leah in the face.
"I heard about your mom." Leah told her. Cori was quiet, not truly saying anything. "Yeah. I feel bad for Davis, David. What ever the hell his name is. And my dad. They're the ones who loved her." Cori told Leah and the girl tilted her head. "You loved your mom." Leah argued.
"I thought I did. I loved the thought of having a mom. I had an incubator who never really wanted me. That's what I had." Cori told Leah, and the girl looked down. "It still must hurt." "It does. Even though I wish it didn't. Even when I hate her with everything I have in me, I still love her a little bit." Cori said as tears blurred her vision as she looked at Leah. The two hugged, Cori settling right into Leah's hold.
Tears blurred the brunette's girls eyes too, though her's were masked more elegantly. "I'm going to miss him so such." She said softly. "The last time we talked, we fought. We fought about Sam." Leah let slip. "Sam?" Cori asked. "Dad said it was fate that he and Emily ended up together, and that yes, I may have gotten hurt in the end, but I shouldn't ruin their happiness, just because it ruined mine." She said, her breathing becoming heavier.
"I'm so angry, Cori. I am so incredibly angry that he doesn't, understand how angry I am! I don't care about if they were supposed to be together! I don't care! He was mine!" Leah cried out. "I'm so angry that he left! He left and still didn't understand that!" Leah said through tears. "Leah." Cori said as she grabbed her trembling her hand, but dropped it quickly as she realized how hot it was. Then the realized the trembling was not of sadness, but of anger, of phasing.
"How could he leave us like that, Cori! HOW? He left my mom all alone! How is she supposed to be okay? And Seth? What about Seth? He NEEDS him! HOW COULD YOU LEAVE US!" Leah screamed into the night air, her raging eyes glaring into the starry sky.
"Leah, he didn't want to leave you. I know he didn't. Hell, you know he didn't. He loved all of you. You're his little girl. Seth, his one and only son. Sue, the love of his life. He didn't want to go. He had a heart attack. He didn't want to." Cori told her softly and tears streamed down Leah's face.
Cori noticed as Sue and Billy were now out on the back porch, watching the scene unfold. Sue with tears in her eyes and Billy with caution in his.
"It's not fair." Leah told her, wiping the tears off her face furiously as she looked at Cori. "I know it's not, Leah. Your dad was good man. But you can't change what's happened." Cori said softly as Leah turned around, wiping at her face once again. "Especially now." She said.
Leah sniffed, that was until she seemed to break.
"ITS NOT FAIR!" She screamed, but her scream seemed distorted, that was until Cori blue eyes found a white and grey wolf staring back at her. Their eyes connected and the wolf whined, its large body seemingly sagging under its own weight, emotions seemingly swirling through its eyes as something seemed to click inside of Cori.
"Cordelia!" Billy called out worriedly as he couldn't get to her as there was no ramp out the back, and Sue was stuck frozen looking at the wolf who whimpered, then then turned and took off into the woods. "Leah? LEAH!" Cori screamed out as she too took off into the woods, her wild red locks flying behind her as she ran after the wolf, ignoring the call of her name from the elder chief.
