Leaving the Black's house, Cordelia was quiet. Sam knew the look on her face. It was the one she wore when she was trying to sort everything out in her head, but it was getting to jumbled.
"Cori." He said softly as he saw her brows furrow in aggravation. "How am I supposed to do this! I can't do this on my own!" Cori shouted out in a burst of anger that had the man stepping back.
"I'm sorry." She said regretfully as she looked at his startled face. "You're not alone. When there is danger, your instincts will kick in, but the pack can help. We can train you. There is no one better to get under anyone's skin than Paul, and Jared equals him out. With that duo plus me, I'm sure we can guide you through this." Sam told her and before he knew what was happening, Cori was wrapped around him in a hug.
"Thank you." She mumbled into his shirt clad chest. "You're welcome Cori."Separating herself, Cordelia glanced down at her phone. It was nearly time for school to be releasing. "Can you drop me by Chief Swan's house?" "Bella?" He asked and Cori smiled sheepishly as she nodded.
The trip back to forks was more lighthearted than the one to the reservation. Cori was still nervous about her powers, though now with the help of Sam and the thought of the pack's help, she felt more confident.
Seeing the white two story come into view, Bella's death trap of a truck already sitting in the drive, Cori was excited to her girl.
She could call her that again. She didn't know if their relationship was back to normal, but she knew it in her heart that Bella wasn't going anywhere.
"Thanks Sam!" Cori said giving the wolf an awkward hug as she dashed out of the truck.
Practically running up to the front door, Cori knocked. The chief came to the door, a smile on his face. "Mae, it's nice to see you. Here for Bella?" He asked and Cori nodded. "Up in here room. Remember the door stays open." He said and Cori's cheeks flared pink as she scurried past the chief.
Climbing the stairs two at a time, Cori made it to the wooden door in record time. Knocking, she heard a soft "come in" from the other side.
Opening the door, Cori found Bella sprawled out on her bed, homework all around her. "Gross." Cori commented, which had Bella's attention, thinking it was her father that knocked. "Hey. How did today go?" Bella asked.
"I learned what I am." Cori told her and Bella's eyes widened. "Like actually?" Bella asked. "The mná doiléir we already knew, but the other part, the new part, I'm a banshee." Bella looked at her, her mind reeling.
"A banshee?" Bella asked getting up off the bed, meeting Cori towards the door. "Yeah, it's from my mom's side. She has strong Irish roots." "How?" Bella asked. "James's bite. According to Billy all it takes is Supernatural intervention, a bite, a scratch, anything and it would have awakened it. With them around it was a matter of time." Cori said and Bella nodded.
"But you're alright, right?" "I'm more than alright. Sam said that my instincts should kick in, and with my extra abilities, I'll be able to protect you better." Cori told her and Bella frowned. "I don't want you to just protect me. I want you here with me. I want to know you're okay." Bella said softly as she grabbed at Cori's hands.
"I'm okay, I promise." Cori told her as she slipped one hand away from Bella's, placing it gently on her cheek, Bella melting into it.
Leaning in, Cori placed a gentle kiss on Bella's lips, that made the girl gasp as she returned it with vigor.
Something about the kiss made something snap inside of Cori, and she pulled Bella closer, the brunette letting out a tiny squeak of surprise as Cori threaded her hands through Bella's thick locks, pulling gently as she over took the kiss, Bella allowing her to, a low moan coming from her mouth. The sound didn't get far as it along with any other noises the brunette may make were swallowed by Cori's lips.
The brunette's hands wrapped around Cori's waist, bringing them even closer together as their bodies connected at several points and both of their breaths became heavy with want.
Opening her eyes for just a second, seemed to be a mistake as Bella gasped, as she jumped back. "What?" Cori asked in surprise. "Your eyes!" "What about them?" "Their purple Lia!" "What?" Cori said but as she turned to look into the mirror, her blue eyes were back and nothing seemed out of place except for her swollen lips.
Turning back towards the brunette, Bella stared into her eyes, but could find no trace of the purple that was there before. "It has to be your powers. It's the first I've seen of it manifest." Bella said as she was constantly looking between Cordelia's eyes to see if the color would reappear.
Cori knew the tension was high between the two at the moment, but with what was told to her, it made her realize something too.
"I'm ready." Cori said. "Ready?" "For us. I want to make this work. If you're willing, I'm ready. I can protect you, and we seem to want the same thing, I just want to make sure you're okay with it." Cori said, her cheeks burning pink as Bella smiled. "I've been waiting." Bella said as she kissed Cori, wrapping her in a hug. "So this means we're back?" Cori asked. "We're back Lia." The brunette told her and for the first time in a while, Cori thought everything would be alright.
