It was quiet in the Austin house.

Something that wasn't too uncommon, but it had been too long. Her father, Jonas, was supposed to be back this weekend, he had promised Cori that he would, but after a no show, and a day and a half of missed calls, Cori was undeniably worried.

Her father always responded to her communication attempts. Either calling back as soon as he could, or texting her, but after the twentieth voicemail and the what felt like one hundred texts later, she was about at her whits end.

Her nerves were fried due to her and Bella's last conversation. It had been two days ago, but the thought of Bella still wanting to be Jacob's friend after quite literally killing her, it made a small piece of Cori not trust the girl.

And now with her father going awol, along with this newly formed itch that seemed to be at the base of her soul, she was about to go mad.

Things were going down hill, and they were only going to get worse.

After continuous calls to her father, his voicemail was actually filled to the brim, and she was no longer able to leave messages, though she still tried.

Her phone rang, and in an instant, she picked up, without looking at the ID. "Dad?" She asked.

"Um, no. I am trying to get ahold of Cordelia Austin. Is this her?" A male voice spoke over the phone. "This is she." She stated. "Cordelia, I have been trying to get in touch with your father, Jonas Austin, do you know where he is?" The man asked. "He's away on business. Can I take a message?" Cori asked as she got a pen and paper ready.

"Um, well, it's not so much a message. How old are you Cordelia?" The man asked. "I'm sorry, who is this again?" She asked and the man sighed. "My name is officer Dover from the New York State Troopers. I need you to state your age, Cordelia, so I can consent to giving you this information without your father present." "I'm eighteen, why? What's going on." Cori asked, worry consuming her.

The man was silent for moment before he spoke again. "I'm sorry to inform you that your mother, Margery Austin, passed away yesterday afternoon due to a vehicular collision. She was the only one in the car. Her emergency contact was her partner, David, your father, and you."

Cori's world froze. On a dime everything had shifted. Each movement had seemed like it had taken every bit of her energy, and yet she somehow managed to get the phone number to call back to after she got in contact with her father.

Hanging up the phone, Cori stood still as a single tear slid down her cheek.

She hated her mother, seemingly with every fiber of her being, but now not having her, it seemed like a part of her had died.

In the meantime on the reservation, two large events would take place. Charlie, and a few of his men from the station, along with a few of the tribal elders would look for the giant wolves in the woods.

The other, Bella Swan would hike through the dense woods to the top of the cliff, and she would dare to see Edward one last time.

In a matter of seconds it seemed like Cori's tears turned into sobs. She stumbled out of the house, landing on her hands and knees as her body wretched. Cordelia's eyes burned purple as two moments in time cast across her vision. Her chosen one, her everything, stepping off the top of the tallest cliff on the Reservation.

Right after she saw the distinct red hair and blood red eyes of Victoria grabbing Harry Clearwater by the neck, strangling him, as she watched the life drain from his eyes as his heart gave out.

It was silent for just a few seconds before a burst of power seemed to rush out of Cordelia, along with a deafening scream.

The earth seemed to shake, as the windows of the surrounding houses either cracked of blew out entirely, and an impression was left in the earth.

The wolves stopped, several of them whining, pawing at their ears, as the high pitched screech filled their ears, even miles away. "What was that?" A collective thought rang out amongst the wolves. "It was Cori." Sam thought back, as he ordered the rest of the pack to kill the vampire that had killed one of their own.

On the beach, Jacob had saved Bella, pulling her ashore and performing CPR in time, just after they had ran Victoria to the water's edge.

Sam had shifted back, speeding toward the Austin's house, only to find a street full of houses with cracked or broken windows, a back yard with a crater blown into it, and absolutely no sign of the young banshee.

"Cori! Cordelia!" Sam yelled from the back yard, but quickly fled into the woods that butted against the Austin's property line. "Cori!" He yelled once again, cursing the young banshee for her lack of scent.

Returning to the house, he noticed a black car parked outside of Austin's house, the strong stench of a vampire accompanying it . Going through the open back door, Sam came face to face with Alice Cullen.

"Where's Cori?" She asked him, her mind racing. "Why do you care leach?" Sam growled out. "Where is she?" Alice hissed out, her eyes turning dark as anger at the wolves lack of communication couldn't come at a worse time.

"She's gone." Sam told her. "What do you mean? Where?" Alice grilled him. "I have no idea. She made her first banshee scream, then disappeared." Sam begrudgingly told the vampire. "Banshee?" Alice asked quietly. "Yeah, you and your family have missed a lot since you skipped town. Do us all a favor and leave before one of them see you." Sam told her as he shoved past her, their shoulders knocking together, neither one seemingly phased, yet both angry at one another.

"What about Bella?" Alice asked. "See for your self." He told her as Bella's truck engine could be heard in the distance.
